Morning Prayer 3/29/20 Confession of Sin the Officiant Says to the People Morning Prayer 3/29/20 Confession of Sin The Officiant says to the people Dearly beloved, we have come together in the presence of Almighty God our heavenly Father, to set forth his praise, to hear his holy Word, and to ask, for ourselves and on behalf of others, those things that are necessary for our life and our salvation. And so that we may prepare ourselves in heart and mind to worship him, let us sit in silence, and with penitent and obedient hearts confess our sins, that we may obtain forgiveness by his infinite goodness and mercy. Officiant and People together Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. The Priest alone stands and says Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen. The Invitatory and Psalter All stand Officiant Lord, open our lips. People And our mouth shall proclaim your praise. Officiant and People Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever, Amen. Venite Come, let us sing to the Lord Let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving And raise a loud shout to him with psalms For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods In his hand are the caverns of the earth And the heights of the hills are his also The sea is his for he made it And his hands have molded the dry land Come let us bow down and bend the knee And kneel before the Lord our Maker For he is our God And we are the people of his pasture And the sheep of his hand O that today you would hearken to his voice The Psalm Psalm 130 1 Out of the depths have I called to you, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice; * let your ears consider well the voice of my supplication. 2 If you, Lord, were to note what is done amiss, * O Lord, who could stand? 3 For there is forgiveness with you; * therefore you shall be feared. 4 I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; * in his word is my hope. 5 My soul waits for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning, * more than watchmen for the morning. 6 O Israel, wait for the Lord, * for with the Lord there is mercy; 7 With him there is plenteous redemption, * and he shall redeem Israel from all their sins. The Lessons A reading from the book of Ezekiel The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.” So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath: Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet, a vast multitude. Then he said to me, “Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.’ Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act,” says the Lord. Reader: The Word of the Lord People: Thanks be to God Song: I Will Wait for You (Psalm 130) Verse 1 Out of the depths I cry to You In darkest places I will call Incline Your ear to me anew And hear my cry for mercy Lord Verse 2 Were You to count my sinful ways How could I come before Your throne Yet full forgiveness meets my gaze I stand redeemed by grace alone Chorus 1 I will wait for You I will wait for You On Your word I will rely I will wait for You surely wait for You Till my soul is satisfied Verse 3 So put Your hope in God alone Take courage in His power to save Completely and forever won By Christ emerging from the grave Verse 4 His steadfast love has made a way And God Himself has paid the price That all who trust in Him today Find healing in His sacrifice Chorus 2 I will wait for You I will wait for You Through the storm and through the night I will wait for You surely wait for You For Your love is my delight A Reading from the Book of Romans To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For this reason the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law-- indeed it cannot, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you. Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair; her brother Lazarus was ill. So the sisters sent a message to Jesus, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.” But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Accordingly, though Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, after having heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.

But none of these ideas is fully developed or explored, the gestures fleeting at best. To create a soft, relaxed look, I paired a tiered lace top with a pair of light-wash boyfriend jeans. The Steve Madden wedges I chose complement the femininity of the top and their flower accents allude to spring. Finally, these TopShop earrings are not only a cute accessory, but they symbolize the ticking clock moving all of our lives forward. The same thing might be said of them. Implicitly, however these songs seem to resonate deeply with the message of the gospel and with the concerns of human beings as they seek the God who created all things. Perhaps then, Sigh No More is a modern collection of psalms speaking to our reality as it intersects with the God who redeems us all. The Grados SRis didn't have much of the effect. Which isn't unexpected for the Grados. They're not a headphone that gives much depth when the sound gets dense. It took some listening to notice that the sound was more in front of me than it would be with a normal modern recording. The HD and HM5 were best at making it known that yup, there's some mixing headphone trickery going on.

Anybody that doubts the impact of music in popular culture needs SVP Entertainment to look no further than a review of 2013. Beyoncé bookended the year - first with her performance during the half-time show at the Super Bowl (joined by her former Destiny’s General Manager, Music Child bandmates) and closing the year with her “surprise” audio/video release, which has Nielsen already become one of the ten best selling digital albums of all time with over a million digital albums sold in just three weeks. In between, music fans were treated to a year of creative release events by such artists as Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Daft Punk. In addition to the great awards shows and celebrations, such as the Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Awards, we were also brought the first YouTube Music Awards, celebrating the consumer’s favorite video streams of the year – this amid continued growth in all forms of music streaming. With year-over-year growth of 32% in streaming consumption (to over 118 billion streams) and with Nielsen consumer research showing that 68% of U.S. consumers reporting streaming music in the past year, we are seeing a surge in music consumption. As is always the case with the music industry, technology is an ever-changing driver of how music is consumed, and today’s consumer has more access to music than ever before - from their connected devices to the all-access models that digital presents.
