CARTMEL TRAFFC REGULATION ORDER 2017 INFORMATION FOR ADDRESSES AFFECTED BY THE PROPOSALS

Cumbria Highways has prepared proposals for restrictions in Cartmel village for consultation and advertising from Thursday 2 nd February 2017. I am writing to inform you of the proposals and to allow you to comment or object before a decision on the final scheme and whether to implement the restrictions is made.

All previous responses to initial consultation meetings have been used to inform these proposals for formal consultation. This statutory consultation gives you the opportunity to make your comments for consideration in the final decision. The consultation and objection period is 21 days and the deadline for replies is Friday 24th February 2017.

How will the proposals affect me? Please take this opportunity to consider the proposals presented in the attached sheets. A copy of the full legal Order and a large copy of the full plan is also available to inspect at the following locations; Church and Grange-over-Sands Library, Grange Fell Road, Grange-over-Sands

When will the proposals be finalised and implemented on the ground? Following advertising and consultation on the proposals, a report will be prepared to go before the County Council Local Committee for South Lakeland in March. The Committee of Local County Councillors will consider all the responses received during the 21 day consultation period and make the final decision as to what will be implemented. The final proposals may differ from these draft proposals. We will endeavour to inform you of the committee decision in due course. If the Committee agree to implement the proposals, the making of the traffic order and the placing of signs and markings should take place within a 3 month period after the decision.
