The Star Gold Coast Announces Sensational Live on the Lawn Autumn Line-Up Media Release 16 March 2021 40 DAYS OF FLAVOUR THE STAR GOLD COAST ANNOUNCES SENSATIONAL LIVE ON THE LAWN AUTUMN LINE-UP The Star Gold Coast has announced the autumn line-up for Live on The Lawn, a season-long series of free music events with the hottest homegrown talent, held in partnership with popular Seltzer brand White Claw. Featuring the best Australian sounds to satisfy our live music cravings, Live on The Lawn features a sensational line-up of big-name acts, acoustic sets and good-time DJs every Thursday to Sunday once the sun goes down. Producer, songwriter, DJ and vocalist KLP kicks things off on 27 March. Regularly called upon to collaborate with the biggest names in the business, KLP is a talented force of the Australian music industry and responsible for one of the biggest dance tracks of the year with ‘Energy’ – her smash hit single with Stace Cadet that was nominated for an ARIA, came #21 in Triple J's Hottest 100 and is now certified platinum. Best Dance Release ARIA nominee and winner of Triple J’s Unearthed, Northeast Party House [DJ Set] will play on 3 April. This six-piece outfit has built a cult following thanks to their electrifying songs that combine the heady exhilaration of dance music with pop hooks and a rock backbone. Founded by producer Benjamin Plant, Miami Horror [DJ Set] will whip the crowd into a frenzy on 17 April, fresh from the release of the 3-disc, 10th anniversary edition of their seminal debut album, Illumination. With their ethereal melodies, extracted from down-tempo nocturnal soundscapes punctuated by funky struts, glossy electronics, and luminous pop, Miami Horror has generated a staggering 100 million-plus combined streams. Brisbane’s own indie-pop band, Confidence Man [DJ Set], will keep the energy high on 1 May with their distinct brand of dance pop that has been described as if ‘Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder gleefully discovering house music via Dee-lite’. While the act’s last single, “Does It Make You Feel Good” dealt in the universal glee of the dance-floor, their latest bop swerves hard in another direction. Set Mo [DJ Set] are the house masters from Sydney made up of Nick Drabble and Stu Turner. With a big bank of stellar singles including ‘White Dress’ and ‘I Belong Here’, the pair constantly push boundaries, with unique vocals, groovy bass lines and sensual strings and will be turning it up on 15 May. Sydney duo, Bag Raiders [DJ Set] have earned global praise for their electronic sounds since the release of their ARIA-nominated self-titled debut album 10 years ago that featured their multi-platinum festival-anthem ‘Shooting Stars’. Look out for their long list of hits, live on The Lawn on 29 May. On 12 June, guests can look forward to ARIA and Grammy Award nominee, Dirty South, who started creating STARENTERTAINMENTGROUP.COM.AU T + 61 2 9657 7600 THE STAR ENTERTAINMENT GROUP LTD ABN 85 149 629 023 Page 1 of 2 remixes and mash-ups of other artists’ work on his family computer as a teen. Music lovers will be able to feast on delicious Southern California-inspired menus from the Container Kitchen on The Lawn, including the $5 Thursdays menu featuring delicious snacks like Kingston school prawns, fried cheeseburger dumplings and sweet potato empanadas. • Client Liaison Release Long-Awaited Debut Album Diplomatic Immunity  by Annabel Ross
Client Liaison release long-awaited debut album Diplomatic Immunity By Annabel Ross It's here. Three years after Fairfax first interviewed Client Liaison, the Melbourne synth-pop duo's long-awaited debut album has arrived, and Diplomatic Immunity is every bit as ridiculous and glorious as their fans could hope for. Since sauntering onto the Australian music scene with breakthrough single End of the Earth in 2012, Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller have attracted a fawning following with their catchy songs, camp choreography, flamboyant costumes and poker-faced skewering of '80s Australian culture and excess. Client Liaison's Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller with their Mercedes limousine. Photo: Stefan Postles Put it on the company card. Too much is never enough. Think nothing. Feel everything. These are the rules for living according to Client Liaison, and so it is fitting they collect me for this interview in a white 1983 Mercedes stretch limousine. "I think there's a gap in the market," says keyboardist/producer Miller, sharing his plans to retrofit the limo, complete with a hot towelette machine and the 1984 Nintendo video game Duck Hunt, and rent it out. "There are these crass stretch Hummers, something someone like Donald Trump would jump out of, and people realise they want something more, that's where we come in, the off-white limo." It's hard to tell if he's joking; part of Client Liaison's appeal is their unwillingness to break the fourth wall. On stage, in their film clips and even during interviews, they are completely dedicated to upholding the Client Liaison narrative, one that sees them cast as louche Hawke- era diplomats living it up on the taxpayer's dollar.
