He was born in New Orleans, and educated himself at prestigious Southern Universities. This led to a professorship of Literature at UC Berkley. He then went on to successfully and profitably lead his family business. His passions included collecting first edition books, African big game hunting, political affiliations and Rock N’ Roll. His first love in musicians was Bob Dylan. Having personally attended dozens of Dylan concerts, Michael had back stage passes to prove it. Dylan, Bob. The Drawn Blank Series. As new. Whilst travelling on tour between 1989 and 1992, Bob Dylan created a collection of drawings that were published in a book entitled 'Drawn Blank' in 1994. These expressive works capture Dylan's chance encounters and observations. The creation of these portraits, interiors, landscapes, still lifes, nudes and street scenes were done to "relax and refocus a restless mind". This graphics collection captures the true essence of Dylan's original paintings. It is the production of these prints that enables a wider audience to appreciate the skill and imagination not only of Dylan but his broad artistic creative talent. $16,500 Dylan, Bob. Bob Dylan's schedule book for the European Summer portion of The Never Ending Tour of 1991. 8.5" x 5.5", pp. 1-26, with show schedules, hotel locations, phone numbers and all necessary information for each city of the tour. Index page has handwritten distance in kilometers and hours travel time between each destination. This leg of the tour included 18 concerts in 26 days, beginning in Rome, moving on to Yugoslavia, Hungry, Austria, German, and three Scandinavian countries. Schatzberg, who is a renown photographer and film director compiles a collection of his mostly black and white photos taken in the 1960's of Dylan and some of those who traveled in his circle. Fine in Fine slipcase, all stored in a light brown, felt, string enclosed bag dust jacket. Brown leather over boards with titling impressed on the spine and a B&W photo of Dylan on the cover. Obviously Dylan is most famous for the poetry of his songs, which are accented in this book by 10 line drawing facsimiles. Good + in not present dust jacket.
