Grattis – Svenska Skidskytteförbundet 25 år Svenska Skidskytteförbundet 25 år 1988-2013 1 Grattis skidskytteförbundet, 25 – det ska vi fira hela året! ”Under 2013 firade Svenska skidskytteförbundet 25 år. Det firades på många olika sätt och platser under hela året med höjdpunkten under jubileumshelgen som firades i oktober. Där valdes de första medlemmarna i Skidskyttets Hall of Fame in och styrelsen utnämnde även Östersunds skidskyttestadion till Sveriges nationalarena för skidskytte. Men vägen till etablerad och respekterad skidskyttenation har inte varit helt spikrak. Leif Emsjö, journalist, informationsansvarig under ett flertal år för landslaget, styrelsemedlem fram till 2013 och med en lång bakgrund inom idrotten och bland annat ishockeyhar skrivit ihop en rad artiklar. This winter sport is a mixture of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Biathlon is difficult to play because here the athletes participating in a cross country skiing race are distracted by frequent stops to shoot at sequence of targets. Biathlon is a combination of five events − individual, sprint, pursuit, relay, and mass start. In this game, the athletes compete in cross country skiing and shoot series of targets from a distance. The athletes need to be fast, focussed, and have more stamina. Every time the target is missed the biathlete either gets an additional time or distance penalty. It is important that the skier is fast enough to maintain the competition but should be slow enough to maintain control. In this game the athletes carry a rifle and shoot the target from the distance of 50m. One of the World’s first ever known ski club was formed in Norway in 1861. In 1924 the combination of skiing and shooting made its way to the Winter Olympics. It was then demonstrated in 1928, 1936 and 1948 but failed to regain Olympic competition back then. In mid 1950s biathlon was introduced into the Soviet and Swedish winter sport circuits and was enjoyed by the mass. -

I detta arbete är föreningarna den viktigaste kuggen, det är där verksamheten har sin grund. We are extremely proud to be the first city to achieve this record. To celebrate our unique history, we decided to name the event the Centenary Championships. The Centenary Championships are both an exciting and carefully prepared world-class sports event and one of the festivities that celebrate the centenary of Finland’s independence. A rare occasion for us Finns – and hopefully for our international guests. Lahti offers an optimal setting for record-breaking performances. The traditional venue has undergone extensive renovation and is now a fully functioning stadium that meets today’s requirements. We are also proud to have Vierumäki Olympic Training Center as our athlete’s village that allows the athletes to unwind and focus all their energy on performing at their best. We hope that the 2017 World Championships will leave their mark on future decades of sports events in Lahti and in Finland. Selv om kampen om oppmerksomhet på sportsfeltet er knallhard, går det an å presse seg frem for en nykommer. Skiskyting har klart det – takket være strategisk jobbing der mange aktører har trukket sammen. Skiskyting er slett ingen ny idrett. De norske og svenske grensepatruljene konkurrerte mot hverandre allerede i 1767, mens etableringen av Trysil Rifle- og Skiklubb i 1861 reg- nes som den første i verden. Skiskyting er med andre ord en særdeles tradisjonsrik idrett, men som kommersielt fenomen er den ny. Svært mye har skjedd det siste tiåret, og det er flere elementer som har spilt inn. Fra et norsk ståsted skal vi nå se på betydningen av blant annet et attraktivt konkurranseprogram og dyktige utøvere for å øke interessen hos publi- kum og medier – noe som igjen gir store inntekter tilbake til idretten. Konkurranseprogrammet Det er mange idrettsutøvere som gjør store prestasjoner, nærmest uten å bli lagt merke til. Enten driver de idretter som ikke egner seg for fjernsynsmediet, eller så avvikles det svært få konkurranser i løpet av sesongen. For å holde oss til norske forhold, er det slik for eksempel i padling og roing, der Eirik Verås Larsen og Olaf Tufte er best i verden2. -

Family takes priority Sven Fischer's waiting for "his day" For nobody knowing the Fischer family it came in surprisingly, that sports would be of imprortance in Sven Fischer's life. Both his parents had been competitive sportsmen at "Turbine Erfurt", his mother was a track and fields athlete, his father a cyclist. So both Sven and his sister Andrea started to do sports rather early in their lives. But no one thought about a career in sports, especially not in wintersports. From the cinder track on snow Sven started in track and field athletics as a middle-distance runner and cross- country runner. In fifth grade he became district champion of his age in the 800 meters and as district champion in cross-country running 1982 he was allowed to participate in the GDR cross- country running championships. At the change of the years 1982/1983 he changed from the Schmalkalden sportsclub and athletics to the Seligental sports club and wintersports, precisely: cross-country skiing. His teachter: Stefan Luck, an uncle of Frank Luck. Sven did so well, that he was sent to the children- and youth sportschool (KJS) in Oberhof the same year, not to the cross-country class though, but the biathon class. That happened in September 1983 – and since then Sven Fischer has been a biathlete. In 1989 Sven made his "Abitur" and he had his first success as a biathlete: he became junior champion of the GDR in the sprint distance. The year had started so well, but then Sven suffered a bad backset: he suffered from severe pain in both knees and had to undergo arthroscopic examinations and an operation of his right knee. -
