THE 2011 JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL PRESEASON MEDIA GUIDE MEDIA INFORMATION The 2011 John Carroll University Football Media Guide has been designed by the JCU Sports Information office in an effort to provide relevant information regarding the Blue Streak football team to all interested parties. The information contained within this booklet was known to be accurate as of July 31, 2011. All subsequent updates regarding John Carroll football will be made on the official website of JCU Athletics, www.jcusports.com. Other noteworthy information regarding media coverage of John Carroll Football is as follows: • Media credentials are available by writing Chris Wenzler, Sports Information Director, John Carroll, University Heights, Ohio 44118 or calling the Sports Information Office at (216) 397-4676. You can also email at [email protected]. Credentials can be picked up at the JCU Sports Information Office until the Friday before a home game, and at the Ticket Kiosk on the day of a game. • A school’s official campus radio station may use the visiting phone line on a reciprocal basis or pay $50. Stations must restrict themselves to two persons in the press box and one on the field. Commercial stationsmust pay $50 and pay for activation of a phone line. All reservations must be made through the JCU Sports Information Office. Please plan in advance (48-72 hours notice recommended). • Parking is available in the lot across Belvoir Boulevard from Shula Stadium, adjacent to the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. Limited reserved parking will be available for members of the media who request credentials prior to 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before a Saturday home event. • The Press Box is located at the top of the home side stands. The press box can be accessed by an elevator (entrance is at end of walkway between football stadium and baseball bleachers) or walking up the stairs of the stadium bleachers. Phone lines and outlets will be made available on a first-come first serve basis, and all efforts will be made to accommodate all requests for space. • Game Day Information including rosters, depth charts, and game notes will be provided in the press box. Food and beverages are available throughout the game. • Statistics will be available in the press box at halftime. After the game, complete play by play and statistical summaries will be made available in the press row area. Please allow at least 15 minutes following the end of the game for statistical game to be completed. Live stats are available throughout the game with an internet connection at www.jcusports.com • Telephones and a Fax Machine are available for media use in either the press box or the Athletic Department. Please make arrangements prior to arrival to secure post game use of the fax machine. • Postgame Interviews are to be conducted in the locker room concourse or other designated area in the stadium. The John Carroll locker room will be open after a 10-minute cooling-off period (per NCAA regulations). The visiting team will determine its locker room policy. If requested, players and coaches will be brought to the specified postgame press conference site. A press conference staging area will be arranged if need arises. • Non-Game Day Interviews must be arranged through the Sports Information Office. The best time to reach Coach Scafe is weekday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
