WELCOME TO BROWN COUNTY! On behalf of Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), and all the residents of Brown County, I'd like to welcome you to the 64th annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference. We are pleased to host airport professionals, consultants and vendors who help to promote aviation and airports throughout Wisconsin.

As the economic door step into to our communities, airports play a vital role in local economies, and GRB is no exception. According to a 2017 economic impact study by WisDOT's Bureau of Aeronautics, GRB provided more than $265 million in economic output, supported more than 1,700 jobs and contributed more than $77 million in labor income to the local and state economy.

The airport, owned and operated by Brown County, is a self-funded enterprise and a U.S. Port of Entry. We are served by four major passenger airlines (American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines), providing 29 daily departures and connections to destinations in the world. GRB is also home to two world-class FBOs, and International Arrivals Terminal and it is the official Gateway to Lambeau Field.

Speaking of Lambeau Field, I hope you have an opportunity to visit some of the top sites and attractions in our community over the course of the next few days. You'll find we have an exciting and vibrant community.

Again, welcome and enjoy the conference.

THE FLYING HAMBURGER SOCIAL The Flying Hamburger Social is a collection of airports, working together to provide a different location each week between June 1st and August 31st for a meal in the late afternoon on a specific day of the week. The meals are put together by fixed based operators, local EAA chapters, local pilot groups, or aviation enthusiasts. The meals are free, but a donation is expected and appreciated. The socials are on the weekdays, (Monday through Fridays), between 5 PM and 7 PM from June 1st to August 31st. The reason for this is we want to make sure there is enough light during the time for non-electrical planes to make it to the socials. The socials are weekdays so as to not compete with local fly-ins or events that may be happening on the weekends at airports. The Flying Hamburger Social is promoted almost entirely online and by word of mouth, Facebook, email mailing list, and our website: www.flyinghamburgersocial.com

These events remain to be very popular and successful throughout the state, with enrollments exceeding the number of available appointments. As air travel continues to grow, and the number of passengers transiting through TSA Security Checkpoints increase, the decision to enroll in TSA Pre® is easy, and makes good sense. In March 2019, 92% of TSA Pre® passengers waited less than 5 minutes. The cost is $85 and includes a background, fingerprinting and approximately 10-minute interview. To ensure security, all travelers are required to undergo screening at the checkpoint, even travelers who have disabilities, medical conditions and other special circumstances. Call 72 hours prior to traveling with questions about screening policies, procedures and what to expect at the security checkpoint. Travelers requiring special accommodations or concerned about the security screening process at the airport may ask a TSA Officer or Supervisor for a Passenger Support Specialist who can provide on-the-spot assistance.
