ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER WEBSITE 500 W. Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203 414.908.6000 MillerHighLifeTheatre.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sarah Maio [email protected] 414-908-6056 King Crimson Announce “Music Is Our Friend” North American Tour Dates 2021 King Crimson comes to the Miller High Life Theatre on August 31, 2021 MILWAUKEE – (June 7, 2021) – The Miller High Life Theatre and Alternative Concert Group are proud to welcome King Crimson with special guest The Zappa Band to the Miller High Life Theatre, August 31, 2021. Artist VIP presale is June 9 at 11 a.m., and venue presale is June 10th at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, June 11 at noon at the Miller High Life Theatre box office or Ticketmaster. When King Crimson returns to action this July, it will be the seventh year that the band has toured since returning to performing live in 2014, a run only interrupted by the lockdown in 2020. In that time, the audience has been reinvented, as much as the band itself, something Robert Fripp noted after the band’s performance in Pompeii, Italy’s famous amphitheater: “In Pompeii, a large percentage of the audience was young couples; KC moved into the mainstream in Italy. I walked onstage knowing that this band's position in the world has changed level.” - Robert Fripp The band’s shows regularly include material from twelve of their thirteen studio albums, including many songs from their seminal 1969 album In the Court of the Crimson King, described by Pete Townshend as an “uncanny masterpiece.” The 7-piece line-up play many historic pieces, which Crimson has never previously played live, as well as new arrangements of Crimson classics – “the music is new whenever it was written.” There are also new instrumentals and songs, as well as compositions by the three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, which are a regular highlight.

  • Level 42 Highlights from Retroglide
Level 42 highlights from retroglide Retroglide was released in September 2006 and was the first Level 42 album in twelve years. Although the album featured all the supporting musicians from the current Level 42 live band (Gary Husband, Lyndon Connah, Nathan King, Sean Freeman) as well as original keyboard player Mike Lindup, it was written solely by Mark King and Boon Gould. The album was released on the W14 label, part of the Universal group and featured artwork from Alan Brooks, who had created the artwork for many of the band’s early records. The cover art also saw the reappearance of the ‘princess’, who was featured on the cover of the first Level 42 record. Retroglide was eagerly anticipated by the group’s fanbase, who were hungry for new material from the band. The resulting album updated the classic Level 42 sound, although certain trademarks - such as King’s slap bass playing and the use of additional sequenced bass parts remained. Others, such as Lindup’s falsetto backing vocals were for the most part absent since at the point that he rejoined the band the album was almost complete. Although Retroglide was not a large scale commercial success, it quickly became popular with fans, and the new songs were well-received on the subsequent tour, which featured Mike Lindup now firmly back in the fold. The band toured in support of the album in Autumn of 2006 and released a Retroglide Live DVD the following year. ‘Dive Into The Sun’ Intro The opening track ‘Dive Into The Sun’ is classic Level 42 and is driven by a powerful riff-based groove from King.

whole band in on the fly. That way, if you do a great take but are not happy with the second half of the song you can have the band play along and seamlessly drop into record mode. The production for an independently released album is wonderful. What can you tell us about it? That would be down to Bruce Quarto, the head of our record company. From the very beginning he said:"1 want this album to be exceptional, not just great. I don't care how long it takes or how much it costs but if you come out of the studio and feel you could have done better, go back in and do it again." Giving us the financial freedom to concentrate on the album instead of struggling to survive gave us the chance to really spend a 'iot of time crafting the songs before we even went in to record them. The same goes for the recording process. We spent a lot of time finding the right guitar, amp or keyboard to get the perfect sound. The cover art for the album is fantastic. Who didit and are you and the band pleased with how it turned out? Were you involved in the concept? The cover was designed and put together by Gien Wexler. Apart from approving the concept we had no involvement with it and of course, we are more than pleased with it. Gien has produced over 300 album covers and has worked with everyone ENJOY THIS UNHIP, from Black Sabbath, toVan Haien to Michael jackson. This cover UNCOOl AND UN-SEXY MUSIC! was originally a concept Gien had for Led Zeppelin with a http://www.comerstone.co.at zeppelin being dug out of the ground but got nixed by jimmy Page's art director.
