3 SSC Napoli - OGC Nice Mittwoch 16 August 2017 - 20.45CET (20.45 Ortszeit) Pressemappe Stadio San Paolo, Neapel Kader SSC Napoli Gesamt- Aktuelle Saison Statistik UCLQ UCL Liga UCL UEFA Nr. BSc-Thesis – BMO Management strategies of football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie Name Student: Mylan Pouwels Registration Number: 991110669120 University: Wageningen University & Research (WUR) Study: BBC (Business) Thesis Mentor: Jos Bijman Date: 1-23-2020 Chair Group: BMO Course Code: YSS-81812 Foreword From an early age I already like football. I like it to play football by myself, to watch it on television, but also to read articles about football. The opportunity to combine my love for football with a scientific research for my Bachelor Thesis, could not be better for me. During an orientating conversation about the topic for my Bachelor Thesis with my thesis mentor Jos Bijman, I mentioned that I was always interested in the management strategies of organizations. What kind of choices an organization makes, what kind of resources an organization uses, what an organization wants to achieve and its performances. Following closely this process in large organizations is something I like to do in my leisure time. My thesis mentor Jos Bijman asked for my hobbies and he mentioned that there was a possibility to combine my interests in the management strategies of organizations with my main hobby football. In this way the topic Management strategies of football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie was created. The Bachelor Thesis Management strategies of football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie is executed in a qualitative research, using a literature study. This Thesis is written in the context of my graduation of the study Business-and Consumer Studies (specialization Business) at the Wageningen University and Research. From October 28 2019 until January 23 I have been working on the research and writing of my Thesis.

A Note from the Editor: For many, Ligue 1 cannot restart quickly enough following an almost perfect, but fundamentally cruel EURO 2016 for France on home soil. The pain suffered on that night in Paris by Didier Deschamps’s men and an entire nation remains all the more heartrending because of the newfound professionalism that Les Bleus conducted themselves with throughout the tournament. Karim Benzema antics aside, contrary to years of squad infighting, the team spirit inside the French camp was the strongest it had been since 2000. On the pitch, France proved that they are on the cusp of a new golden generation, with Samuel Umtiti, Kingsley Coman and Antoine Griezmann all shining. Although some of Les Bleus’ much touted young guns fell short of expectations, namely Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, France’s U19 EURO win further confirms that the future is astonishingly bright for French football on the international scene. One would not be foolish to expect there to be some turnover of talent for the 2018 World Cup cycle, with Patrice Evra and others’ involvement coming to an end. Much like Les Bleus therefore, Ligue 1 too can expect a very different feel for the 2016/17 season. PSG have entered a new era after President Al Khelaifi’s obsession for progression in the Champions’ League failed to be adequately satisfied by Laurent Blanc, leading to the latter’s dismissal. Les Parisiens have appointed Unai Emery in Blanc’s place, who brings a new-age management approach that relies on a squad instead of a team of individuals, a charge often leveled at Blanc’s PSG.

  • 2018/2019 Ligue 1 Preview Guide
2018/2019 LIGUE 1 PREVIEW GUIDE As Ligue 1 begins again, there is a rare air of expectancy. No, there haven’t been the sort of blockbuster transfers of the likes of Kylian Mbappé or Neymar, just the usual flow of some of the league’s best players to England and Spain, in the form of Malcom, Fabinho, Thomas Le- mar, Issa Diop, and others. But there have also been a number of brilliant signings made under the radar, and given the recent record of French clubs in turning young players around for con- siderable profit, the league’s official new slogan “The League ofalents” T may be more apt than the casual observer may realise. Paris Saint-Germain, of course, remain prohibitive favourites for the title, but have enough weaknesses, particularly at left back and in defensive midfield as new manager Thomas uchelT toys with the idea of a back three. Still, though, this marks a decided summer of change for the champions, for whom Gianluigi Buffon is their only signing, a marked contrast from previous spending. Still, though, a full season of Neymar and further development from Kylian Mbappé should leave them well-placed to repeat. Away from the capital, Lyon and Marseille haven’t experienced much in the way of movement, with both clubs losing only a few spare parts, as Nabil Fékir’s mooted move to Liverpool failed to come to fruition. The additions of Léo Dubois and Martin Terrier follow on from their recent trend (Lucas Tousart, Tanguy N’Dombélé) of buying young players from other clubs, hoping to reap the benefits by selling them on.

  • Ligue 1 2015/2016: Your Guide to the Season Ahead
Ligue 1 2015/2016: Your Guide to the Season Ahead Get French Football News A Note from the Editor: Explosive: not a word commonly associated with French football’s top flight in the 21st century. However, the 2014/15 campaign lived up to the aforementioned tag in some style, with Alexandre Lacazette-led surprise package Olympique Lyonnais taking PSG to the final pair of matches for the Ligue 1 top spot, not to mention Marcelo Bielsa’s revolutionary attempts at a magnificent, but unsustainable title charge with Marseille which fell to pieces come the turn of the calendar year. The introduction of so many new faces sitting on the end of substitute benches (or in some cases on top of ice boxes) across France injected a certain amount of unpredictability into Ligue 1’s 2014/15 edition which saw the league make positive strides, at least with regards to the entertainment factor. Leonardo Jardim, Hubert Fournier, Ghislain Printant and Willy Sagnol, to name a few, have all, in very short spaces of time, revolutionized their respective clubs’ reputations, for better or for worse. With such a vast array of tactical approaches, 2014/15 was the season during which Ligue 1 truly became the most ferociously volatile division in Europe. SC Bastia and Guingamp felled PSG, Lyon were dismantled by Nice at home and Marseille were embarrassed by Lorient. The lack of pan-club consistency made for frustrating viewing for hardcore fans, but enthralled the neutrals. As if 10 months of action-packed league football was not enough, French football has a way of making headlines, even during the off season.
