His Father Thomas Sr. in 1969 and His Mother Katie in 1961. He Was Also Predeceased by His Wife Dora Thomas was predeceased by: his father Thomas Sr. in 1969 and his mother Katie in 1961. He was also predeceased by his wife Dora in 2003; son Gerald Yarmichuk in infancy and grandson Sheldon Stratichuk in 1986; brothers John and George; sisters: Mary and Katie in infancy. Thomas was also predeceased by his brothers- in-law Matt Surkan, Nick Medelko, Nick Magas, Matt Derow and Alfred Onslow. Thomas leaves to celebrate and rejoice in his memory his daughter Viola and her husband Ron Rieger of Regina, Sk.; sisters: Elsie Surkan of Yorkton, Sk. Doris Magas of Kelowna, B.C., Mary (Magner) Nelson of Weyburn, Sk, Vicky (Bill) Snatinsky of Watson, Sk; and Kay Onslow of Theodore. He also leaves a close friend Phyliss Langley; grandchildren, Clayton (Jackie Stratichuk) of Yorkton, Sk and Cheryl (Ken) Kaban of Parkerview, Sk; great-grandchildren Melissa Kaban (Kelly Grona) of Fox Valley, Sk, Kyle Kaban, Haley Stratichuk of Yorkton,Sk. and numerous nieces and nephews and the many friends that knew him. He Troubled no one, his wants were few And now, dear Lord, he has come to you. Take care of him as he takes his rest For the one you have taken was one of the best. Thomas Yarmichuk entered into eternal rest on October 29, In Loving Memory of 2005 at the Kamsack Hospital, Kamsack, Saskatchewan at Thomas Yarmichuk the age of 84. Thomas was born on April 4, 1921 to Thomas Sr. and Katie Yarmichuk in the Insinger District 1921- 2005 and settled with his parents on the family farm. Thomas attended the Chernovitz School. Thomas married Dora Prayer Service Gawrelitza on October 5, 1941 and continued to farm in Tuesday, November 1, 2005 the Insinger district for over 30 years. In 1973 they moved 7:30 PM to Yorkton, Saskatchewan and retired from farming. While Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre in Yorkton, Thomas worked for Morris Industries. While Funeral Service on the farm, Thomas would pick up cream cans from Wednesday, November 2, 2005 various farmers and haul them to the creamery in Yorkton 9:30 AM as well worked on the threshing crews. In 1948 Thomas Holy Trinity UkrSheho, Saskatchewan went to work in the lumber camps near Endeavor. In the Officiated By early 50's Thomas served as a school trustee at the Reverend Father Mel Slashinsky Oleksince School. Thomas also worked for the R.M. of Cantor Insinger in the late 50's; and was also a councilor for the Katie Rudey with members of the parish choir R.M. of Insinger for about 6 years. During his retirement Banner Bearers years, Thomas would never consider himself retired and he Daniel Dutchak and Steve Zaharia would assist Rex Goulden in the delivery of the Leader Post. This he did for about 13 years. Thomas loved to do a Cross Bearer – George Kitzan little carpentry work and built many Blue Martin houses. Casket Bearers He also played in a band playing the accordion. Dora and Kyle Kaban Ken Kaban Clayton Stratichuk Thomas were members of Mamornitz Ukrainian Orthodox Rex Goulden Rob Onslow Richard Onslow Church, and when the church closed for a short time, they Interment became members of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Parish Cemetery Church in Sheho, Saskatchewan then about 4-5 years later Bailey’s Funeral Home when the Mamornitz congregation reopened Thomas and Dora continued to actively support both congregations.     MG 259 - Keith Ewart Photograph Collection Dates: 1885-2009 (inclusive), 1977-2009 (predominant). Extent: ~7000 photographs, 125 glass plates, 322 postcards. Biography: Keith Ewart was born on 9 September 1931, and was raised and schooled in Weyburn, Sk. He trained as a psychiatric nurse and spent most of his working career in Moose Jaw. He has lived in Saskatoon since 1989. A photographer by vocation, in 1975 Ewart began taking images of buildings in Saskatchewan. He has published two volumes of his photographic documentation of railway stations and railway buildings. He passed away in 2011. Scope and content: This collection includes images Keith Ewart has taken of structural landmarks, particularly in Saskatchewan, as well as glass plates from a Moose Jaw photographer ca. 1915-1920. The collection also contains some images that were not taken by Ewart, but were collected by him. Arrangement: This fonds was received inn groups of smaller accessions which have been kept in their original groupings. Printed in Canada ii INTRODUCTION On 27 March 1933 The Change of Name Act was proclaimed in Saskatchewan. This was the first legislation in the province to formalize the process of legally changing one's name. It allowed for anyone over the age of twenty-one years to apply for a change of name. However, certain restrictions applied. No married woman could, during the lifetime of her husband, change her surname as acquired from him; and no married man could apply to change his surname or the given names of his wife, or of their unmarried children under the age of twenty-one, without the wife's consent. Formal application for a change of name under the 1933 legislation was to be made to the Provincial Secretary. The application was to state the full name of the applicant, the place of residence, and where necessary the full name of his wife as well as full names and ages of minor children, along with the proposed change of name(s). A notice of this application was then published in The Saskatchewan Gazette and a newspaper circulating in the district where the applicant resided. Once the name change had been approved, the Certificate of Change of Name was also published in The Gazette and the local newspaper.
