RESEARCH INTERESTS My work is aimed at understanding complex water-energy-climate interrelationships and at how hydrological processes affect the transport of dissolved and suspended constituents through catchments and aquifers. Recent work includes studying dissolved organic carbon dynamics with colleagues at Stroud Water Research Center, understanding human-natural system interactions with respect to lawn fertilization in the Richland Creek watershed in Nashville, analyzing river- groundwater interactions and the relation to landslides in the Pacific Northwest, initiating work on water-energy-food interrelationships, and participating in interdisciplinary research on adaptation to drought in the Mahaweli watershed in Sri Lanka and on linked hydrological- climate-human adaptation in Bangladesh.
