Comunicación COMUNICACIÓN 23 de enero de 2017 Ocupación en alojamientos turísticos Canarias registró 9 millones de pernoctaciones en diciembre, 9,13% más que en 2015 El archipiélago obtuvo una tasa de ocupación de un 81,32% en habita- ciones y apartamentos, cuatro puntos por encima del año anterior. La ocupación de plazas fue del 69,38% El número total de viajeros entrados fue de 1.161.021, de los cuales 86% provenían del extranjero Pernoctaciones Evolución mensual Millones de pernoctaciones en 12 Canarias 10 8 6 4 2 0 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 Pinche aquí para ver el gráfico interactivo Canarias registró el pasado diciembre un total de 9.031.261 pernoctaciones, el mejor registro para este mes desde el 2009 según los datos de la Encuesta de Alojamiento Turístico Colectivo que publica el Instituto Canario de Estadística (ISTAC). Estos poco más de nueve millones de pernoctaciones, tanto en hoteles como en apartamentos, significan un aumento del 9,13% con respecto a diciembre del 2015, el mayor crecimiento por- centual desde diciembre de 2013. Como era de esperar, las islas con el mayor número de pernoctaciones fueron Tenerife y Gran Canaria, con 3.109.469 y 2.695.478 respectivamente. Le siguieron Lanzarote (1.567.382), Fuerteventura (1.407.866), La Palma (156.575), La Gomera (87.473) y El Hierro (7.018). El resto del ar- chipiélago también experimentó un crecimiento de la siguiente forma: La Palma con 23,62%, Lanzarote con 15,44%, Fuerteventura con 14,16%, La Gomera con 11,81%, Tenerife con 6,71% y finalmente Gran Canaria con 5,25%. Le siguieron Adeje (Tenerife, con 1.235.254), Arona (Tenerife, con 929.055), Pájara (Fuerteventura, con 737.070) y Mogán (Gran Canaria, con 668.944), conformando así los cinco municipios con mayor cantidad de pernoctaciones. El listado con el menor número de pernoctaciones lo encabeza El Pinar de El Hierro (El Hierro), con 1.532. Le siguieron Valverde (El Hierro, con 1.874), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura, con 3.415), Frontera (El Hierro, con 3.612) y finalmente El Paso (La Palma, con 4.994). Frontera (El Hierro) lo hizo en un 133,03%, mientras que Fuencaliente de La Palma (La Palma) creció un 87,63% y Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) un 52,79%. Entraron también en esta lista La Oliva (Fuerteventura) con 43,18%; y El Pinar de El Hierro (El Hierro), con 27,03%. Los municipios que experimentaron un mayor descenso fueron Santa Cruz de La Palma (La Palma, con -10,67%), Mogán (Gran Canaria, con -7,48%), El Paso (La Palma, con -3,40%), Santiago del Teide (Tenerife, con -2,03%) y Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife, con -0,73%). La mayor tasa de ocupación por habitaciones la registró Tenerife, con 83,95%, seguida por Gran Canaria (82,89%), La Palma (81,49%), Lanzarote (78,96%), Fuerteventura (76,61%), La Gomera (69,42%) y El Hierro (41,07%). En lo que se refiere a la tasa de ocupación por plazas, Canarias obtuvo un 69,38%, 5,7 puntos porcentuales por encima de la tasa de 63,68% obtenida en diciembre de 2015. En esta caregoría, Fuerteventura fue la isla que obtuvo la mayor tasa de ocupación, con 72,28%. Le siguieron Tenerife (72,19%), Lanzarote (69,86%), Gran Canaria (65,85%), La Palma (65,0%), La Gomera (55,05%) y El Hierro (27,61%). I. G ONZÁLEZ & F. S IVERIO (2010). Tamaño de la población y estatus del cuervo (Corvus corax ) en las islas centro-occidentales del archipiélago canario. VIERAEA 38: 123-132. RESUMEN: Durante la estación reproductora de 2009 (febrero-junio) se ha estudiado el tamaño de la población de cuervo en cuatro islas del archipié- lago canario. En total fueron censadas 44 parejas: diez en Gran Canaria, 12 en Tenerife, 17 en La Palma y cinco en La Gomera. La mayoría de estas parejas tienen sus territorios en barrancos, roquedos y acantilados marinos, coincidiendo con enclaves donde aún existe actividad ganadera (rebaños de cabras y ovejas) o cabras asilvestradas. Es muy probable que el tamaño de la población flotante no supere al de las aves reproductoras. Se discuten las amenazas reales y potenciales. Entre ellas, se incluyen 28 especies que aparecen de forma escasa para las que se muestra su distribución espacio-temporal en 2019 mediante mapas y gráficas (véase De Juana y Garcia, 2015; Gil-Velasco et al ., 2018; Rouco et al ., 2018). Para contabilizar el número de citas para cada espe- cie escasa se revisaron las observaciones disponibles en diferentes plataformas de recogida de datos, especialmente en eBird ( eBird , 2020; Observado , 2020; Reservoir Birds , 2020 y Ornitho , 2020), des - cartando aquellas que aparentemente correspondieran a las mismas citas hechas por diferentes observa - dores con el objeto de contar con muestras de datos lo suficientemente homogéneas. Para el archipiélago canario, se incorpora un buen número de citas correspondientes al episodio de calima que se produjo a finales de febrero de 2020. Dichas circunstancias meteorológicas provocaron la arribada de muchas aves accidentales procedentes del noroeste africano de las que dará cuenta el correspondiente informe del Comité de Rarezas de SEO/BirdLife, junto con muchas otras especies de paso que se pudieron observar en las islas con mayor frecuencia y en números más altos de lo habitual, y de las que se sinte- tiza en el presente informe aquellas observaciones más relevantes. Se sigue la secuencia taxonómica de acuerdo con la nueva lista patrón de las aves de España (Rouco et al ., 2019).

    RESULTS OF THE IV WORLD CONGRESS OF TERRACED LANDSCAPES ORGANIZED BY ITLA MAC IN CANARY ISLANDS, SPAIN From 13 to 22 March 2019 the IV World Congress of Terraced Landscapes Re- enchanting Terraces has been held in La Gomera, Canary Islands (Spain). The Congress, organized by the International Terraced Landscapes Alliance (ITLA) had the objective to show the significative value of the terraced landscapes as active resources that can be used to meet new social demands for food, agriculture, leisure, education, social interaction and finally quality of life with friendly, beautiful and safe landscapes against natural risks. The Congress focuses on the specific problems of the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores and Cape Verde to develop a global thinking on the perspectives of these territories in the future. More than 150 experts from different countries and representing all the various institutions that have organized the event in Canary Islands participated to the Congress. From 16 to 18 March, the congress participants, divided into 14 groups, moved to the eight islands of El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, La Palma, Tenerife and Madeira, to visit the productive and abandoned terraces, to discuss with owners and farmers, to exchange with the population and the local institutions about the perspectives of their development. As a result of these visits, specialists in various disciplines related to the environment, land management, geography or architecture have travelled to La Gomera from the different islands to participate in the final event of the IV World Congress of Terraced Landscapes. On this occasion the representative of the local government of La Gomera, valuing the great contribution of the event, has stressed that in the island are being implemented 50 projects of rehabilitation of terraces that require sustainable development and economic strategies to ensure their conservation.
