Cobb It is impossible to watch sexy divas wrestling each other in the ring and not get an immediate celebrity crush. Anyone who used to or still watches WWE, definitely loves the smoking hot female wrestlers who adorn their TV screens and make wrestling even more fun and entertaining. WWE defines ad promotes its female wrestlers as sexy, powerful, and smart and calls them divas. Whether all of these divas are powerful and smart or not is argument-able but there’s no doubt in the fact that each one of them possesses the perfect proportionate bodies. To make a list of the sexiest divas that ever appeared in WWE events is totally an upheaval task when these women had a class of their own. We have (with immense difficulty) gathered some of the hottest women from WWE for you, let’s dig in already. 1 / 5 Brie Bella: Brie and Nikki are twin sisters though the two do not resemble each other in most of the ways. Brie is often referred to as the “good” one between these too. She has a petite but perfectly fit body. She first appeared in WWE in 2008 and was adored by everyone because of her next-door-neighbor looks. She has taken a break from wrestling and is currently married to intercontinental wrestler, Daniel Bryan. Layla: Originally from the United Kingdom, Layla is a dancer-turned-wrestler. For two years, from 2004 to 2006, she danced for the Miami Heat. In 2006, she got herself selected for the Diva search by WWE and later got a contract of worth $250,000 with WWE. Her sexy curves and wrestling skills make her one of the hottest divas of WWE. 2 / 5 Michelle McCool: Michelle was just another middle schoolteacher before she entered her name for WWE’s 2004 Diva search. She got selected and went onto become the first ever female wrestler to hold two titles simultaneously. In 2008, she became the inaugural WWE Divas Champion and WWE Women’s Champion in 2009. She is a long-heighted woman with a great athletic body. She is famous for “schooling” her opponents. April Jenette Mendez: Better known as AJ Mendez, she is currently the WWE Divas Champion. She has a small structure, but her quickness and fast pace covers it and makes her one of the best female wrestlers out there. She was awarded in 2012 with WWE’s Diva of the year title and is now Raw General Manager. Her slender and well-toned body certainly makes her super-hot and appealing. 3 / 5 Candice Michelle: Candice is one hell of a looker; she is pretty famous for her GoDaddy Super Bowl advertisements which attracted a lot of traffic to the website. She participated in the 2004 WWE Divas Search along with Michelle McCool and was the first-ever 2004 WWE Divas search contestant to win the Divas title. Mickie Laree James: Mickie used to appear as a valet in late 1990s but with time honed her wrestling skills and was eventually placed in the storyline with Trish Stratus in 2005. She got her first public attention after winning WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22. This smoking hot beauty is a nine-time champion and is the only female wrestler up to date who holds WWE Women’s, TNA Knockouts Championships, and WWE Divas titles. 4 / 5 Trish Stratus: Trish started off with a career in fitness modeling but soon tried her luck in wrestling. Upon her entrance in WWE, she was usually given sexy storylines. Apart from being one of the sex bombs in WWE, Trish proved her wrestling skills and became WWE Hardcore Champion, Diva of the decade, and WWE babe of the year. She has won 7 WWE Women’s Championships and was an inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame’13. Now that’s something, right? BERNTHAL, PHD, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA INTRODUCTION As noted by Laczniak, Burton, and Murphy (1999), there has been a notable lack of attention given to marketing ethics in the sport literature, and the attention which has been given has focused on an important yet relatively limited set of topics, much of it addressing the issue of ambush marketing (e.g., Meenaghan, 1996; O’Sullivan & Murphy, 1998). The practice and study of marketing ethics is as important for the sport and entertainment industry as it is for any other. Kotler’s (1997) “societal marketing concept” suggests that organizations should build social and ethical considerations into their marketing practices, acting in the best long-term interests of society. The Code of Ethics of the American Marketing Association (AMA) also promotes the importance of marketing ethics, stating that marketers should not do harm knowingly, and should offer products and services that are safe and fit for their intended uses. Reasons can be posited as to why such a lack of attention to marketing ethics exists within the sports literature. For instance, one might charge that within academic research as a whole, dismissal of research considered to be colored by a normative or overly polemical tone is commonplace (perhaps rightfully so). Further, one might harbor the notion that the consumption of sport in its various forms has relatively little potential for harm. In other words, challenging the marketing of other consumer products within an ethical framework, such as marketing tobacco to teens and credit cards to the young and to the mentally disabled, seems a valuable pursuit given the potential harm these products can do to consumers.
