MOOT COURT SOCIETY- Moot Court activities are of great importance at Army Institute of Law. 10 FROM THE BATCH OF 2013-18

When we embarked on this journey 5 years ago, there was insurmountable pressure to know our destiny. With the anticipation of a college and a rigorous curriculum, many questions raced through our minds that extended from our life-plans, to life-purposes, to dreams and to our inner selves. Where do we want to be in the next 5 – 10 – and even, 50 years? Do we want to excel exclusively in this discipline for the rest of our lives? Is this what we had dreamed of when we wanted to grow old into a profession? Is this it? Our quest for an unequivocal, resonating answer to these questions landed us at the doorsteps of reputed organizations for training and internships, be it in the arenas of advocacy, corporate establishments, legal aid or research. We authored papers, argued at mock trials and undertook courses beyond our curricula. We travelled from Hyderabad to The Hague, all to quench our tunnel- vision for a potent answer. However, the response we sought was within four walls – Our alma mater lifted our eyes and opened our minds so that the world can open itself to us. Rather than mere buildings, classes and tests, clinics and papers, AIL was our station for discussions and introspections, and a shelter with sympathetic ears. It cultivated professional adeptness in us, and taught us not only how to seize opportunities but also to invent new ones. We acquired values that transcend all professions; it taught us to not only dream big, but dream with definition. A strange alchemy has now arisen from our intellectual infancy, and we have learnt how to respect the letter of law. Our learning has transcended from mere trophies and certificates on walls, and we now stand as the advocates of justice. Bolstered by the time out, we await opportunities to use our powers of analysis strengthened by our powers of imagination to unearth multitudes of layers of the law. To us, sky is not merely the limit, but the beginning.
