BROTHERS IN ARMS THE LAGOON An exhibition of photographs will be on show HAS A NEW HOME! in until 19 May to celebrate 100 years of brotherhood of arms between Australia and France.

The exhibition is entitled “Bleuets et Coquelicots” (Cornflowers and Poppies), the symbolic flowers of remembrance honouring Australian and French soldiers who gave their lives for their countries on wartime battlefields. The 44 little-known photographs included in the exhibition offer a unique insight into a century of military cooperation between two nations. All information boards and captions accompanying each photo are in both French and English. The three New Caledonian towns which hold an annual ANZAC Day remembrance ceremony will take turns to host the exhibition: Noumea, Bourail and Pouembout. Admission to the exhibition is free.
