GENERAL ELECTRICAL NOTES: ELECTRICAL GENERAL DEMOLITION NOTES: ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS: GENERAL: UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATED OTHERWISE, ALL WORK SHOWN ON THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS IS GENERAL: DEMOLITION DRAWINGS ARE BASED ON EXISTING PLANS AND FIELD INVESTIGATION PRIOR TO DEMOLITION. A. GENERAL PROVISIONS 2. ALL SUBMITTED SHOP DRAWINGS (MANUFACTURERS' EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTIVE SHEETS OR VENDORS' PREPARED NEW WORK TO BE PROVIDED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. VISIT THE EXISTING BUILDING PRIOR TO BID IN ORDER TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS AND IN DRAWINGS) SHALL HAVE THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S OR SUBCONTRACTOR'S STAMP OF APPROVAL ORDER TO AVOID CONFLICTS. INDICATING THAT THE ITEM SUBMITTED IS AS CALLED FOR ON THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATION, IS APPROVED BY 1. REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED IN DIVISION 1, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS, SUPPLEMENTAL GENERAL CONDITIONS, COORDINATION: COORDINATE AND COOPERATE WITH ALL TRADES ON THE PROJECT. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR SUBCONTRACTOR, THE DATE OF APPROVAL AND INITIALED BY THE PERSON SPECIAL CONDITIONS, ADDENDA, ALTERNATES, CONTRACT AND PROPOSAL, ALONG WITH DIVISION 16 AND ALL DASHED ITEMS: ALL ITEMS SHOWN DASHED ON DEMOLITION PLANS ARE EXISTING AND SHALL BE REMOVED APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL AND THE NAME OF THE COMPANY SUBMITTING SAID EQUIPMENT FOR APPROVAL. RECORD DRAWINGS: SECURE AN EXTRA SET OF ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS TO BE KEPT ON SITE AND MARK, DAILY, THE COMPLETE INCLUDING BOXES, CONDUIT, WIRE, FASTENERS, AND ASSOCIATED APPURTENANCES UON. IT'S SECTIONS, COMPRISE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACT. DRAWINGS AND ALL THEIR REVISIONS UP TO THE BID SUBMITTAL DATE BECOME A BINDING PART OF THE CONTRACT, ALONG WITH DRAWINGS IN RED AS THE PROJECT PROGRESSES IN ORDER TO KEEP AN ACCURATE RECORD OF ALL DEVIATIONS 3. SUBMIT BOUND BROCHURES COMPLETE WITH A TABLE OF CONTENTS. LOOSE OR STAPLED TOGETHER SHEETS EXISTING CONDUIT: ALL EXISTING CONDUITS AND WIRING THAT WILL NOT BE REUSED SHALL BE REMOVED WHERE THESE SPECIFICATIONS AS THOUGH THEY WERE ONE, AND ANYTHING IMPLIED BY THE SPECIFICATIONS AS BETWEEN THE WORK SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND THE WORK WHICH IS ACTUALLY INSTALLED. THESE MARKED ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. ANY SUBMITTALS NOT IN BROCHURE FORM OR NOT AS SPECIFIED SHALL BE RETURNED DRAWINGS SHALL REFLECT ANY AND ALL CHANGES AND REVISIONS TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN WHICH EXISTS IN THEY WILL BE EXPOSED UPON COMPLETION OF NEW WORK. EXISTING CONDUIT TO REMAIN CONCEALED IN WALLS THOUGH SHALL BE INTERPRETED AS ALSO IMPLIED BY THE DRAWINGS AND VICE VERSA. PROVIDE NECESSARY AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE FOR RESUBMITTAL. THE COMPLETED WORK. DELIVER THE MARKED DRAWINGS TO THE <ARCHITECT/ENGINEER> AT PROJECT CLOSE-OUT. SHALL BE ABANDONED. EXISTING CONDUIT TO REMAIN BELOW FLOOR SLAB SHALL BE CUT OFF ONE INCH BELOW ITEMS FOR A COMPLETE INSTALLATION OF ALL ELECTRICALLY OPERATED EQUIPMENT LISTED IN THE ROUGH FLOOR AND GROUTED FLUSH. ALL EXISTING WIRING IN CONDUITS TO BE ABANDONED SHALL BE SPECIFICATIONS OR SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. TESTS: TEST ALL WIRING FOR CONTINUITY AND GROUNDS BEFORE CONNECTING ANY FIXTURES OR DEVICES. DISCONNECTED FROM POWER SOURCE AND REMOVED. 4. ALL DESCRIPTIVE LITERATURE SHALL BE SUBMITTED IN A THREE (3) HOLE BROCHURE WITH A COVER IDENTIFYING PERFORM INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTS ON ALL WIRING #8 OR LARGER TO ENSURE THAT ALL PORTIONS ARE FREE 2. THE ARCHITECTURAL, STRUCTURAL, MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND EQUIPMENT DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS THE FOLLOWING: FROM SHORT-CIRCUITS AND GROUNDS. REPAIR DAMAGE: EXERCISE CARE IN REMOVAL OF DEMOLITION ITEMS. REPAIR, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO OWNER, ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND/OR EQUIPMENT TO REMAIN. ARE INCORPORATED INTO, AND BECOME A PART OF THIS DIVISION. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL EXAMINE ALL SUCH DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND BECOME THOROUGHLY FAMILIAR WITH THE PROVISIONS a. NAME OF THE JOB. DIMENSIONS GIVEN ON THE PLANS, IN FIGURES, SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER EQUIPMENT. PROVIDE A GROUNDING CONDUCTOR IN ALL POWER CIRCUITS. MOUNTING DEVICES, MOUNTING HARDWARE, ETC. PROVIDE CONDUIT PLUGS AND BLANKS FOR ALL OPENINGS SCALED DIMENSIONS AND SHALL BE VERIFIED IN THE FIELD. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL LAYOUT ALL 5. EVERY EFFORT SHALL BE MADE, IN CHECKING THE SHOP DRAWINGS, TO DETECT AND CORRECT ALL ERRORS, CREATED BY THE REMOVAL OF CONDUIT. PROVIDE BLANK COVER PLATES FOR ALL OPENED OUTLET BOXES CREATED EQUIPMENT ROOMS TO MAKE SURE THE EQUIPMENT, AS PURCHASED, FITS IN THE ROOM OR SPACE SHOWN AND OMISSIONS AND INACCURACIES. FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL NOT RELIEVE THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR OF THE LABELS: PROVIDE LABELS FOR ALL PANELBOARDS, CABINETS, SAFETY SWITCHES, MOTOR-DISCONNECT SWITCHES, BY THE REMOVAL OF THE EQUIPMENT AND/OR DEVICES. HAS ALL CLEARANCES REQUIRED BY THE NEC. EXACT LOCATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE VERIFIED IN THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROPER AND COMPLETE INSTALLATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT AND MOTOR CONTROLLERS. LABELS SHALL BE MACHINE ENGRAVED, LAMINATED PLASTIC, PERMANENTLY FIELD AND ROUTING OF CONDUITS SHALL SUIT FIELD CONDITIONS. DOCUMENTS. ATTACHED WITH SELF-TAPPING SCREWS OR RIVETS. DO NOT USE SELF-ADHESIVE LABELS. DEMOLISHED MATERIALS: ALL MATERIALS REMOVED UNDER DEMOLITION, NOT TO BE RELOCATED OR DESIGNATED TO BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER, SHALL BECOME PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE REMOVED 4. UNTIL TIME OF INSTALLATION, THE ARCHITECT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE LOCATION E. AS-BUILT DRAWINGS J-BOX LABELING: LABEL ALL JUNCTION BOXES WITH PERMANENT MARKER IDENTIFYING CIRCUIT NUMBER AND COMPLETELY FROM THE SITE. PANELBOARD OF CIRCUITS WITHIN. OF CONDUIT AND EQUIPMENT WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COST TO THE CONTRACT. SCHEDULE OUTAGES: ALL WORK AND ALL POWER OUTAGES IN THE EXISTING BUILDING SHALL BE SCHEDULED AT 1. SUBMIT TO THE ARCHITECT ON SET OF REPRODUCIBLE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS SHOWING THE AS BUILT PANEL DIRECTORY: PROVIDE TYPEWRITTEN PANELBOARD DIRECTORY CARD IN EACH PANELBOARD INCLUDING TIMES CONVENIENT TO THE OWNER. 5. THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE INTENDED TO SUPPLEMENT EACH OTHER. MATERIAL CONDITIONS. EXISTING PANELBOARDS MODIFIED FOR THIS PROJECT WITH CIRCUIT LOAD INFORMATION AND ROOM NUMBER AND LABOR NECESSARY TO THE PROJECT SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED EVEN THOUGH NOT CLEARLY IDENTIFIED. USE ACTUAL ROOM NUMBERS IN THE BUILDING, NOT THE ROOM NUMBERS SHOWN ON THE NOTIFICATION: NOTIFY THE OWNER PRIOR TO TURNING OFF ANY CIRCUITS. SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED IN BOTH. LABOR AND/OR MATERIALS NEITHER SHOWN NOR SPECIFIED, BUT F. STANDARDS AND SUBSTITUTIONS CONTRACT DRAWINGS, AS THEY ARE OFTEN DIFFERENT. OBVIOUSLY NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION AND PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE SYSTEM, SHALL BE EXISTING CIRCUITS: IF DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION, IT IS DETERMINED BY THE CONTRACTOR THAT AN FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. MOTOR COORDINATION: MOTORS, MOTOR STARTERS, CONTROLLERS, INTEGRAL DISCONNECT SWITCHES, AND EXISTING CIRCUIT BECOMES SPARE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL UPDATE THE PANELBOARD DIRECTORY TO INDICATE 1. WHEREVER THE WORDS "APPROVED BY", "APPROVED EQUAL", "AS DIRECTED" OR SIMILAR PHRASES ARE USED IN SUCH, EVEN IF IT IS NOT EXPLICITLY MARKED ON THE ELECTRICAL PLANS. THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS, THEY SHALL BE UNDERSTOOD TO REFER TO THE OWNER AS THE APPROVING CONTACTORS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT BY THE EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER. 6. ARRANGE ALL EQUIPMENT SUBSTANTIALLY AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. MAKE DEVIATIONS ONLY WHERE COMMUNICATE WITH THE TRADES PROVIDING THE EQUIPMENT, VERIFYING ALL REQUIREMENTS, PROVIDE ALL AGENCY. THE NAME OR MAKE OF ANY EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS NAMED IN THIS SPECIFICATION (WHETHER OR NECESSARY TO AVOID INTERFERENCE. CHECK ALL EQUIPMENT SIZES AGAINST AVAILABLE SPACE PRIOR TO ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS REQUIRED THEREIN, AND INSTALL MOTOR STARTERS. THIS MOTOR FUSE PROTECTION: WHERE FUSE PROTECTION IS SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED BY THE EQUIPMENT THIS WORK. IN NO CASE ATTACH TO, OR FINISH AGAINST ANY DEFECTIVE WORK OR INSTALL WORK IN A CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT THE BASE BID PRICE BASED UPON STANDARD SPECIFIED EQUIPMENT DESCRIBED MANUFACTURER, PROVIDE FUSE SWITCHES IN LIEU OF NON-FUSE SWITCHES OR IN LIEU OF ENCLOSED CIRCUIT MANNER WHICH WILL PREVENT PROPER INSTALLATION
