A severe thunderstorm swept through Windsor Gardens on July 7, dumping 3 inches of rain in less than an hour. Facilities Maintenance Manager Bill Walsh estimates 14 million gallons of rainfall drenched the community. Our Windsor Lake holds about 1.5 million gallons. Besides flooding, the storm left behind damaged landscapes with many trees and tree limbs lost. Part of the roof of Building 66 was pulled back during the storm, leaving two units uninhabitable. Repair work for these units as well as other parts of the building impacted by water damage is ongoing. For more photos of the storm aftermath, see pages 18 and 19.
