Broad Street was constructed c.1920 for the Swift Meat Company. The two story building represents a good example of vernacular commercial design in the 1920s exhibiting a distinctive front brick parapet with cast concrete capping and a band of window sets spanning the second story of the front. ELABORATION The Swift Building is l.ocated at 410 E. Broad Street and was constructed c.1920. It is located in the commercial downtown of the metropolitan area that is divided into two cities in two states. State Line Avenue dissects the city with Texarkana, Arkansas, on the northeast side of the street and Texarkana, Texas, on the southwest side.
