Item 7 4th December 2020 Xxxx 2018 Glasgow Community Planning Partnership Greater Pollok Area Partnership Report by Director of Community Empowerment and Equalities Contact: Patricia Boyce Telephone: 0141 276 9884 2020/21 AREA BUDGET: APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING Purpose of Report: To inform members of the current position in relation to the Greater Pollok Area Partnership’s Area Budget for 2020/21 and to make recommendations on applications for funding. Recommendations: It is recommended that the Area Partnership: (1) approve (a) the recommendations on area budget grant applications, for 2020/21, as detailed in appendix 1 (2) note (a) the current budget position for 2020/21 as detailed within Appendix 2 Area Budget Allocation 2020/21. 1. Glasgow City Council agreed its budget for 2020/21 on 20th February 2020 with the overall funding available for Area Partnerships maintained at 2019/20 levels. The allocations to Area Partnerships were revised from 2019/20 levels to take account of the 2020 publication of the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) and agreed by the City Administration Committee on 12th March 2020. The SIMD is the Scottish Government’s official tool to identify those areas within Scotland most at risk of the effects of multiple deprivation. 2. Based on SIMD 2020, 8 Wards would have received a reduced funding allocation for 2020/21 however within the overall Area Partnership budget, funding of £7,326 has been redirected to ensure that no Ward suffers any loss. SIMD 2020 also results in 15 Wards receiving slightly increased funding. The Greater Pollok Area Budget for 2020/21 is £90,546.37 Area Budget 2020/21 Expenditure to date 3. From the 2020/21 Greater Pollok Area Budget a total of £59,021.50 (65% of the budget) has been committed to date to various projects serving the area, leaving a balance of £31,524.87 (35% of total budget) yet to be allocated. 4. In August 2020, Area Partnership Members approved an allocation of £1,000 to Police Scotland to support the cost of providing an October Week 2020 Holiday Activity Programme for Young People from St Paul’s and Hillpark Secondary Schools. 5. Subsequent to this decision confirmation has been received that due to the current Pandemic the proposed activity has had to be cancelled and a total of £1,000 has been added to the remaining budget for spend in 2020/21. Area Budget Applications 6. Appendix 1 provides a summary of further applications that have been received. Each application has been assessed and a recommendation is offered which may include specific conditions, in addition to the standard GCC conditions of grant. The Area Partnership Chair is invited to comment on each of the recommendations. 7. Area Partnership members are asked note a standard condition for all grants approved is as follows: - The grant recipient must adhere to Government advice with regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak 8.
