The Riveredge Nature Journeys camps are more than just a fun summer diversion; they connect people (preschool through adult) with the natural world in a deep and meaningful way, building skills and awareness from one camp to the next. Our first and foremost priority is to provide an unforgettable experience for each and every one of our campers. Campers participate in hands-on explorations as they ask questions about the mysteries of the natural world, uncover evidence at their fingertips, and draw conclusions based on personal experiences. Of course, there is plenty of time for engaging in unstructured play throughout the day! We want kids to enjoy the outdoors, feel free from the routines of the school year, get dirty, and have fun. At Riveredge, campers get the quintessential youth outdoor experience that used to be a central part of American history and culture. We dedicate our summers to the growth and success of our campers. Interactions with other campers and our highly qualified staff of educators (10 campers or fewer to one leader) allow each child to receive individualized attention. Lessons learned from role models other than parents are often taken more quickly to heart. Our goal is to give campers tools and strategies they can use to continue to explore the wonders of our natural world throughout their lives. By connecting and building along our path from Discoverers, Pathfinders, Trailblazers, Garden Wonders, Explorers, Guardians, Stewards, Questers, Expeditioners and on through Family Adventures, campers can imagine and realize what we can become. We hope you will consider Riveredge Nature Journeys camp to be a valuable part of your child’s education, independence, and growth.
