Cook’s Bay Opunohu’s Bay Swim Mountain Bike Run MOOREA Island 1 OPUNOHU BAY The bay of Opunohu (or of Papetoai) is one of the most beautiful sites of Moorea, offering a sight on the peaks of the Mou’aroa, overhanging waters in the mesmerizing reflections. It forms the vastest stretch of water of Moorea. The peak of the island, the mount Tohiea, rises as height as 1 207 meters. From here, the view on translucent waters of the Polynesia is simply magnificent. This scenery was of use as places of shootings to numerous movies, among which "The Bounty" in 1983, with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins, " A love affair " in 1993 with Warren Beatty, and " The counterfeiters " in 1994, with Gérard Jugnot and Jean-Marc Barr. Opunohu means "Stomach of the fish stone". The pass is called « Tareu », what means "Sheltered", because this natural harbour is a deep and safe place to anchor a boat ... even better, to let the whales farrow and to play with their newborns between July and October. The small beaches are sometimes used by the fishermen of « ature », seasonal catch with big nets and by means of outriggers. 2 START SWIM ROUTE Outriggers with music group Opunohu’s Bay 500 m 1000 m Transition Passing Park under Road 1500 m Triathlon 2nd et 3ème Tour Natation Moquette 3 SWIM (1.5 km) Having prepared their bikes and clothes of race on the park of transition (see CRIOBE page 9), after the briefing in the amphitheater, the triathletes will go to the bottom of the bay and will board outriggers. The departure will be given right in the middle of this wild and majestic bay. In front of swimmers, the mounts which bounds the old volcano, this caldera where we can contemplate since the Belvedere. During the swim, outriggers and paddles will escort the triathletes for their safety. 4 TRANSITION PARK (Scientific center CRIOBE) Transition Park Passing under Road Steps for exit water Swim Carpet Exit Park 5 TRANSITION The triathletes will have to swim under the road by taking the channel which leads to the Research Center CRIOBE. After climbing the steps of the pontoon, they cross about hundred meters to the entry of the Park. Another adaptation, featuring Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins, made its debut in 2015. “The Dresser follows a performance and the backstage conversations of Sir, the last of the dying breed of English actor-managers, as he struggles through King Lear with the aid of his dresser,” Jacob said. “The action takes place in the main dressing room, wings, stage and backstage corridors of a provincial English theatre during an air raid. “At its heart, the show is a love letter to theatre and the people who sacrifice so much to make it possible.” Jacob believes The Dresser has a multitude of challenges for it to be successful.

McCabe & Mrs. Miller By Chelsea Wessels In a 1971 interview, Robert Altman describes the story of “McCabe & Mrs. Miller” as “the most ordinary common western that’s ever been told. It’s eve- ry event, every character, every west- ern you’ve ever seen.”1 And yet, the resulting film is no ordinary western: from its Pacific Northwest setting to characters like “Pudgy” McCabe (played by Warren Beatty), the gun- fighter and gambler turned business- man who isn’t particularly skilled at any of his occupations. Why do people go see them? The book is hefty with gossip of all kinds, which is too bad because he's talking about the revolution in films in the 60's to early 80's. It is chock full of interviews and choice information about the time period 60's's in American cinema that changed everything, for a lot better and some for not. Beatty likes to fuck alot. Biskind's book disappointed me tremendously. Return to the Books Home Page. Assassinations, cultural domination, drugging, spying, provocation: Talk about taking the fight to your opponents—the American people—and crippling them for generations! But in the kind of popularized pseudohistory ''Easy Riders, Raging Bulls'' exemplifies, anecdotes are valued above all else, bitchy gossip is privileged, dysfunction is automatically more fascinating than artistic success, aggrieved former friends and former lovers are granted the license to settle scores sometimes anonymously , documentation is disdained and historical analysis must be squeezed into the narrative quickly, so as not to disrupt the dishing.
