It is a private business school with a strong international reputation, which was originally established as the International Business School in 1989 to meet the demand for managerial and entrepreneurial skills that arose over the last decade in Poland. It took the name of Leon Koźmiński Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in 1997, and became Koźmiński University in 2008. Originally it served the needs of entrepreneurs and managers from Warsaw, but the number of students coming from other regions of Poland now constitutes 70% of the total population.
