MOOMIN PUBLISHING 2014 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tove Jansson. !ere will be a number of festivities to honour and celebrate her art and life. Tove Jansson (1914-2001) became one of the key artists in Finnish visual art during the postwar golden age of modernism. As a painter, illustrator and author, Jansson expanded and transformed her expression tirelessly up to the last years of her life. Her works are a re!ection of an entire life philosophy, eliciting enthusiastic responses from children and adults alike in all countries where her works are known. Tove Jansson’s international success made her one of the best-known Finnish artists in the world. "e year 2014, which marks the 100th anniversary of Tove´s birth, is another great opportunity to take a new look at her entire body of work.
