Postgame Quotes Nashville Predators vs.

Panthers Quotes Head Coach On the penalty kill in the third and the momentum shift... It was a good special teams game for us. I think that the power play got us on board with the first of the game. I didn’t like our first unit early and then our second unit jumps over and gets us a big goal and then the penalty kill was a big momentum shift. I loved how aggressive we were. I had them running around a little bit, so that weighs in a lot to the two points tonight.

On fourth line energy and insurance goal... Colton Sceviour made a great play on the goal and it all starts with Jared McCann tripping it behind the net and Hawryluk going with a good stick and popping it out. Some nights like this, especially back to back, you need four lines and everybody going and they really supplied some energy and some offense and it was nice for us.

On the confidence and concentration of James Reimer... For me it was his best game of the year, easily. I thought that he was seeing the puck, he was moving, he was aggressive, he was at the top of his crease and his rebound control was good. So, deservedly, the boys gave him the ball tonight as the player of the game amongst us anyway. I thought he really fought hard for everything and looked good in there.

On Trocheck back in the lineup... Especially on the road, when it comes to matchups and things like that, you see how many times I use Troch in the defensive zone faceoff, especially at the end on the 6-on-5. I think he went 3-for-4 in a row, that’s big. You can only play so much in those situations and I think that you see offense coming from Jared McCann now you see defense coming from other lines because they’re in their spots they’re in where they’re supposed to be playing, we’re a more complete team. Trocheck is our engine like I always say and you could see by his effort tonight how much he means to our team.

Defenseman Aaron Ekbald On the game tonight… That was a big goal by Colton Sceviour’s line towards the end; it put us up 4-2 which put the game out of reach. We are very happy to have that and very happy to have one on the power play. All systems are a go for us and you can feel the fun in the room.

On the confidence of having a 3-0 lead early on in the game… That was huge for us, and it is so important to put the game out of reach especially with a team that is so lethal on the back and front end of the game.

Forward Vincent Trocheck On what he thought of goalie James Reimer’s game tonight… He played phenomenal tonight and it’s the best I have seen him play all season. Anytime you have a push like that in the third period with a team like that, you’ll have him on his head but he saved the game tonight.

On what beating a team like Nashville means to them… It is giving us confidence and obviously we had a rough go the first half of the season. We have the personnel in here to win a lot of hockey games and I think we showed that last year. Now it’s just a matter of getting this confidence back and playing the way that we know how to play.
