Glass Clear and colored glass, bottles and jars. Rinse clean. Labels are okay. No need to separate by color. No dishes, glasses, ceramics or window glass.

Corrugated Cardboard Flatten. No waxed or slick-coated cardboard. No polystyrene foam or any packing material.

Newspaper Newspaper only. Anything that comes in the newspaper can be recycled with the newspaper. No plastic bags, string or banding.

Comingle Materials Newspaper/Magazines/Catalogs/Phonebooks • Plastics – Rinse clean. No liquid, motor oil or hazardous waste in containers. No need to flatten. Acceptable Plastics: - Plastic bottles, tubs and jugs (6 ounces or larger), milk jugs, water bottles and shampoo bottles. - Rigid plastic tubs such as yogurt containers, sour cream & cottage cheese containers and butter tubs. - Rigid nursery plant pots (4 inches or larger) and plastic buckets (5 gallons or less).

Unacceptable Plastics: - Plastic bags, plastic film (saran wrap, sandwich bags, Ziploc® bags), clear plastic clamshells (bakery and produce containers), takeout food containers, packaging, bubble wrap, plastic foodware (cups, plates, utensils), and toys. • Tin/Aluminum – Cans, jar lids, foil, TV dinner trays and beverage cans. Rinse clean. No need to flatten. • Paper Bags • Mixed Paper/Junk Mail – Paper, envelopes, white and colored paper, computer paper, tin can labels, wrapping paper (no foil or ribbon), shredded paper (strips only, no confetti), paper ream wrappers, tissue paper, waxed paper, candy wrappers and snack food bags. • Paperboard – Cereal/cracker/shoe boxes (discard liners), soda and beer cartons, paper egg cartons, paper towel tubes, frozen food boxes, paper cups/plates/towels/napkins and pet food bags.

Wood Waste • Decking, fencing, used , painted lumber, , , pallets and crates. • Clean building lumber scraps and engineered . Nails and staples are accepted. • Not Accepted: cement board, metal clad wood, vinyl siding, plastic lumber or laminates, railroad ties, metal fasteners (bolts, heavy hinges, steel rods, cable, joist hangers), furniture or trash of any kind.

Yard Debris • Grass clippings, brush, plant prunings, needles, pine cones, weeds, trimmings and branches and stumps or trees (no larger than 12” diameter). • Sod and clean dirt (separate from yard debris). • Not Accepted: rocks, lumber, metal, or trash or plastics of any kind, including plastic bags.

No Charge Deschutes Recycling accepts everything that you can recycle at your curb, (see reverse side for complete list) as well as: • Used motor oil • Cooking oil - one gallon jugs with tight fitting lids • Clean scrap metal • Propane tanks • Automotive batteries/rechargeable batteries (no alkaline batteries) • BBQs (tank removed) • Lawnmowers (all fluids removed) • – latex and oil and stains only (up to 10 gallons). No dried paint, spray cans, thinners and solvents, open, leaking, or empty containers. Please dispose of dried paint and empty containers in the trash.
