Florence Hodgetts

“Training to be a teacher has been challenging at times, but it has been the most rewarding experience. I have really enjoyed being involved in the school community from day one and being treated as another member of staff. Working with the students has been fantastic and on the School Direct course, you have the chance to build a strong relationship with your class as you are in the classroom from the start of the term.”

“I’ve really enjoyed teaching in two different schools. Emmbrook and Piggot are both very good schools and their English departments are highly supportive, always available to an- swer questions and offer feedback.”

“I was able to secure a salaried position, which is extremely helpful as the school covers my university fees and also pays me as a member of staff. Teaching is a uniquely fulfilling job, a gratifying role of responsibility, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else.”
