The state of Goiás is located within the Brazilian Highlands in the center of Brazil, between 750 and 900 m above sea level. The seventh biggest state of the 26 Brazilian states occupies about 340.000 km2, with just 6,4 Million inhabitants and is about the size of Germany (357.000 km2).
