Nach ihrem internationalen Durchbruch mit dem Smash Hit ›MMMBop‹ verkauften sich ihre bisher sechs Alben inzwischen über 16 Millionen Mal und erhielten zahllose Grammy Nominierungen. Nebenbei darf Hanson auch als Paradebeispiel dafür gelten, wie es gelingen kann, die Balance zwischen dem gemeinsamem Produzieren von Musik, weltweiten Tourneen, Gründung eines eigenen Plattenlabels, sowie eigener Biermarke und der familiären Verbundenheit als Geschwister zu halten. Das Beste daran aber ist, dass Hanson auf all die Erfolge der Vergangenheit nur kurz zurück blicken, um sich für die Zunkunft inspirieren zu lassen. Ihnen geht es nach wie vor nicht um Ruhm, sondern ums Kreieren von Musik und Momenten, die Menschen zusammenbringen. So ist es nur folgerichtig, dass ihre ›Middle Of Everywhere‹ Greatest Hits Compilation natürlich auch mit ›I Was Born‹ eine neue Single präsentiert! Passend zu dieser Greatest Hits Veröffentlichung wollen Hanson ihr Jubiläum aber vor allem mit ihrer weltweiten Fanschar gebührend feiern – und so bildet ihre Show am 1. Juni in Köln den Auftakt zu einer großen Welttournee! In ihrem Anfangsjahr 1992 waren Isaac, Taylor und Zac gerade mal elf, neun und sechs Jahre alt. Sie verbrachten die ersten fünf Jahre damit, sich von ihrer Heimatstadt Tulsa aus eine Fanschar zu erspielen. Frühe Sets bestanden überwiegend aus klassischem Rock N Roll und Soul Songs der 50er und 60er Jahre von Elvis, den Beatles, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, als auch Otis Redding und Aretha Franklin aber nach und nach wagten Hanson erste Gehversuchen mit eigenen Stücken, aus denen sich schon bald ein eigenständiger Stil entwickelte, den man am treffendsten als Soul-Pop mit grandiosen Gesangsharmonien umschrieben kann. Hanson verbinden dabei geschickt die Musik ihrer Vorbilder mit gekonntem Songwriting und einem guten Gespür für Melodien, die man nicht so schnell vergisst. Nach zwei Independent Veröffentlichungen kam 1997 dank ihres Albums ›Middle Of Nowhere‹, das neben ›MMMBop‹ unter anderem mit ›Where´s The Love‹ und ›I Will Come To You‹ noch weitere Hitsingles bereithielt, dann der internationale Durchbruch, der mit dem Nachfolger ›This Time Around‹ und ausgiebigen Tourneen noch weiter ausgebaut werden konnte. Ab 2003 machte sich die Band mit Gründung ihres eigenen Labels 3CG Records und der Veröffentlichung ihrer Alben ›Underneath‹, ›The Walk‹ ›Shout It Out‹ und ›Anthem‹ in Eigenregie zu einer der erfolgreichsten Independent-Bands dieser Tage. 2007 startete Hanson mit TakeTheWalk.net eine Grassroots Kampgne zur AIDS Hilfe und Bekämpfung von Armut in Afrika, bei der die Teilnehmer einen Barfußlauf über die Strecke einer Meile zurücklegen und die inzwischen tausende Unterstützer gefunde hat.
