Firstly I would like to thank all those who brought their donations today for the “Salvos” Christmas food hamper appeal and try not to forget our non-perishable food collection is available for the December meeting as well, please leave donations near the signing in table. From President Clyde Another month has flown by and most of us have handed back the grandkids and are now enjoying the warmer Wyborn weather after the drought breaking rain of late last month.

Along with our usual activities some 70 members had a most enjoyable week away with our caravan and camping getaway to Forster/ Tuncurry. A great time was had by all and the chosen day tours, restaurants and other activities werewell organised. Our thanks go to Ron and Sue Boundy for all their effort and a great week away. The Cup outing at the Avoca Picture Theatre was a good day out and enjoyed by some 40 members thanks to the organising by Babs & Phil Clarke.

Talk about a wonderful lifestyle we all enjoy. Aren’t we lucky to have a great lot of convenors keeping us all entertained.

We are now getting serious looking for nominations for next year’s Junior Vice President, plus we also need an Assistant Treasurer. These positions are vital to the running of the club so if you have any interest it would be worthwhile talking with Bard, Lynn or Colin. Personally I have found the last three years to be very rewarding and I would encourage all members to take the opportunity to get involved in the club’s management at some stage during their membership. So don’t dilly dally any further and miss out. Clyde

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL MONIES OWING FOR DEPOSITS, TRIPS, LUNCHES ETC. ARE PAID TODAY. REMEMBER NO MONEY Will BE TAKEN AT the December Meeting, thank you.

The most relaxed evening was a magnificent sunset by the lake with the presentation of awards for the Ten Pin to Ladies winner Vicki Halverson and to Men’s winner Lindsay McNamara. This was followed by a sausage sizzle prepared by the Park management so everyone could relax. The Golfers rose early for a rewarding game on Thursday. The Ladies winner was Sue Boundy and the Men’s winner was Lindsay McNamara. Most people had a free day as the whale watching was abandoned because of predicted poor weather. Members went out for walks, coffees in lively Forster, watched whales and dolphins from the long bridge and along an excellent ocean walk, went to the movies, shopped and ate lunches and dinners at good restaurants. The last evening was a fiercely contested Barefoot Bowls event which entertained both players and onlookers. The winning team was Jane Wilson, Tony Carlsen, Barry Sargent and Ron Hodge. Our holiday concluded with a lovely meal at Tuncurry Bowls Club and safe journeys home for all. We look forward to 2019 and another adventure.
