This will be accomplished by introducing cutting edge technology available in Japan and implementing a combined cycle power generation system using a highly efficient gas turbine as a substitute. It is also aimed to implement F/S for the project to reduce carbon dioxide emission, so that it can be applied for the future joint implementation project* (JI) with Japan. Peer review process All articles included in “Ecologia Balkanica” are peer reviewed. Submitted manuscripts are sent to two or three independent peer reviewers, unless they are either out of scope or below threshold for the journal. These manuscripts will generally be reviewed by experts with the aim of reaching a first decision as soon as possible. The journal uses the double anonymity standard for the peer-review process. Reviewers do not have to sign their reports and they do not know who the author(s) of the submitted manuscript are. We ask all authors to provide the contact details (including e-mail addresses) of at least four potential reviewers of their manuscript. -

Organisation of work, time, efficiency, competition Dobri Zhelyazkov and the first textile factory in Bulgaria and on the Balkan peninsula (by Aleksander Zoev) Dobri Zhelyazkov Fotisov - Factory maker (1800 - 1865) is a Bulgarian entrepreneur who founded the first textile production in Sliven and the Balkans in the 1830s. (Monument to Dobri Zhelyazkov in Borisova gradina, Sofia.) Born in Sliven,Ottoman Empire(nowadays Bulgaria), Zhelyazkov studied at the Greek school in his native town. Upon finishing, he tried several handcrafts until he discovered his talent in homespun tailoring. In the 1820s Zhelyazkov introduced an improved wool-carding machine in his work, drawing down upon himself the anger of his competitors, who complained to the authorities. However, this did not stop Zhelyazkov. In 1826, Zhelyazkov co-founded the Secret Brotherhood (Тайно братство, Tayno bratstvo) together with Dr Ivan Seliminski. The organization, initially a social one, would develop into a political society. Following the outbreak of the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829, Zhelyazkov took part in the organization of an uprising in the region of Sliven. However, after the signing of the Treaty of Adrianople in 1829, Zhelyazkov was forced to flee to Russia in 1830. He settled in Crimea, marrying another emigrant, Mariyka Yanakieva, and became a wool and cloth merchant, touring the country and observing textile production. In 1834, Zhelyazkov returned to Sliven with his family and settled in his wife's house. There he constructed a production building (2.20 × 4.80 m, 3.80 m high), where he fitted looms, carding and spinning machines constructed by local smiths to designs brought from Russia. -

It is manifested in the continuous growth of the indicator of average age of the population in recent years. In 2000 this indicator was 39.9 years, in 2005 it was 41.2 years, and in 2010 it reached 41.9 years. The ageing process occurs both in rural and in urban areas, at that the average age of the population in rural areas (45.5 years) is higher than that in urban areas (40.5 years). The trend of population ageing is also reflected in the changes in its basic age structure – distribution of the population under, of and over working age1. It has been reasoned by a number of foreign economic factors by virtue of the open character of our national economy, the course of the transition economy reforms, as well as the peculiarities of the Bulgarian economy EU integration. The relation "internationalization of business - internationalization of the national economy" is studied in different directions and methodology, but in the present study an adapted version of the method developed by Alan Rugman is applied. The main approach is based on the comparison between the degree of internationalization in the national economy and the degree of internationalization of a specific type of business. The measurement of the degree of internationalization is done with the help of variables and a system of indicators, which are directed respectively to the business environment of the Bulgarian economy and to the specifics of the Bulgarian tourism business. As analysis findings of the processes of internationalization in the context of tourism, it is concluded that these processes play an important role in determining the position of Bulgarian tourism in its inevitable competitive opposition to other tourist destinations and their business. -

Increasing average temperatures is a precondition of the additional shortening of the winter tourist season at mountain territories in Bulgaria. The goal of the present publication is to extract strategies for extension of the winter season at mountain resorts in Bulgaria, by proposing effective mechanisms, based on the tourists' preferences and the abilities of tourist entrepreneurs. Based on expert analysis of Bulgarian tourist resorts, personal researches and experience in the researched topic, we determine alternative sources of offering and organization of event as the main possibilities of extending the season. The effect of this research can go in two directions: on one hand, by identifying and discussing the basic concept of seasonality, it will contribute to the enrichment of scientific knowledge in the field with potential for future research. On the other hand, it can be beneficial to destination managers as it will offer a better understanding of the importance of holding unique events to shape the destination's image, reduce seasonality and develop a sustainable economy based on tourism.
