June 20, 2021 in Ordinary Time by Michelangelo, 1506 , Or the Holy Family the Doni Tondo Twelfth Sunday June 20, 2021 in Ordinary Time by Michelangelo, 1506 The Holy Family , or The Doni Tondo Happy Father's Day Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish 1775 Grove St. Glenview IL 60025 Parish Office 847-729-1525 olphglenview.org seek, share, rejoice - pastor's letter... Dear Parishioners, “He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Quiet! Be still!” One of the more familiar biblical scenes is the one captured in this weekend’s gospel. Jesus appears to be sound a sleep while the boat he and the apostles are in is being assaulted by a violent storm. Jesus brings calm to the turbulent waters. Most of us have some part of our lives that is besieged to a degree by troubled waters. Our health, financial worries, or a family member struggling. It does not take much for our sense of calm to be upended. Since the announcement that our state was entering Phase 5, I have felt a calming of the troubled waters that were a result of the pandemic. While we are not over it, with the passing of each day, an emergence of confidence that Covid is behind us is reassuring. Jerry Boland, Pastor For me, my faith was a source to great strength navigating all that transpired since the pandemic began. Whether it is a pandemic or a personal struggle, our faith can calm the troubled waters like nothing else. I am convinced we will emerge as a stronger parish because of the challenges we had to face. We have begun the daunting task of reopening. There are all sorts of unintended consequences as we return but we are moving forward. I had the wonderful opportunity to preside at Mass this week at Chestnut Square. We have several parishioners who live there, and it was such a blessing to see folks I have not seen in a year and a half. This weekend the 9:30 Playdium Mass returns to McDonnell Hall. The 7:30 am Sunday morning Mass returns on July 4. The 6:30 am daily Mass returns on Monday, July 12. There are some adaptions we need to make out of an abundance of caution. We will be unable to have communion in the cup, hearing confessions in the confessionals and the communion service pre-ceding the 6:30 Mass. I also want to encourage all of us to be aware that people are at different levels of comfort with the reopening process. There are those who are concerned we are moving to fast and others that we are moving to slow. I am committed to being as sensitive to everyone as we re- engage parish life. We had our first meeting of the Renew My Church grouping at St. Norbert. We were introduced to the vision of this strategic plan and the need for every parish to reflect on its blessings and the challenges that must be faced as we build a new reality of a vibrant, life giving Church. One the key challenges of the Glenbrook Grouping (OLPH, St. Catherine and the Catholic Community of Northbrook) is the task of evangelization. All parishes have experienced significant declines in mass attendance, pre-COVID. The challenge of the post-COVID Church is to reach out to many who have drifted away after months of restrictions on public worship. This weekend we observe Father’s Day. Fathers matter. We celebrate the men in our life that provide, encourage and witness their faith. Happy Father’s Day! May your week be blessed! Fr. • Unacceptable
______________________________________________________________________________ Unacceptable April 11, 2012 he Obama administration has offered what it has styled as an “accommodation” for religious institutions in the dispute over the HHS mandate for coverage (without cost T sharing) of abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception. The administration will now require that all insurance plans cover (“cost free”) these same products and services. Once a religiously-affiliated (or believing individual) employer purchases insurance (as it must, by law), the insurance company will then contact the insured employees to advise them that the terms of the policy include coverage for these objectionable things. This so-called “accommodation” changes nothing of moral substance and fails to remove the assault on religious liberty and the rights of conscience which gave rise to the controversy. It is certainly no compromise. The reason for the original bipartisan uproar was the administration’s insistence that religious employers, be they institutions or individuals, provide insurance that covered services they regard as gravely immoral and unjust. Under the new rule, the government still coerces religious institutions and individuals to purchase insurance policies that include the very same services. It is no answer to respond that the religious employers are not “paying” for this aspect of the insurance coverage. For one thing, it is unrealistic to suggest that insurance companies will not pass the costs of these additional services on to the purchasers. More importantly, abortion- drugs, sterilizations, and contraceptives are a necessary feature of the policy purchased by the religious institution or believing individual. They will only be made available to those who are insured under such policy, by virtue of the terms of the policy.

  • The Real Powers Behind President Barack Obama by Karen Hudes
The Real Powers Behind President Barack Obama By Karen Hudes Tuesday, December 31, 2013 8:02 (Before It's News) From Karen Hudes Facebook page: Barack Obama is truly not the President of the United States. He is not a powerful person at all. Rather, he is a front man for more powerful entities that hide in the shadows. The real power in the world is not the United States, Russia, or even China. It is Rome. The Roman Catholic Church (Vatican) is the single most powerful force in the world. However, the Vatican has been under the control of it’s largest all-male order, the Jesuits. The Jesuits were created in 1534 to serve as the “counter-reformation” — the arm of the Church that would help to fight the Muslims and the Protestant Reformers. However, they fought with espionage. The Jesuits were expelled from at least 83 countries and cities for subversion, espionage, treason, and other such things. Samuel Morse said that the Jesuits were the foot soldiers in the Holy Alliance (Europe and the Vatican) plan to destroy the United States (Congress of Vienna). Marquis Lafayette stated that the Jesuits were behind most of the wars in Europe, and that they would be the ones to take liberty from the United States. The head of the Jesuit Order is Adolfo Nicholas. His title is Superior General of the Jesuits. The use of the rank “general” is because the Jesuits are, in reality, a military organization. Nicholas, as the Jesuit General, is the most powerful man in the world.
