Life is a dance! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH 6:00 PM CROWNE PLAZA IN CLAYTON CARDINAL RITTER SENIOR SERVICES Celebrating Years www.tjwies.com 1 November 7, 2014 Dear Friends of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, Good evening and welcome! I am grateful to each of you for coming tonight and for your support of the mission and ministry of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services. The proceeds from this evening’s fundraiser will be used to provide services for some of the poorest of the senior adults we serve in two of our Assisted Living Facilities, St. Elizabeth Hall and DuBourg House, and for our Adult Day Program. The Support Our Seniors (SOS) proceeds will be distributed by our Social Services Department to seniors in need living in the community. Cardinal Ritter Senior Services provides care, service and support to more than 28,000 senior adults annually. The majority of the individuals served by CRSS are very low income or they have no resources at all. “Inspired by the teachings of Jesus…” our mission is to …”provide an integrated continuum of quality care” to those senior adults needing programs and services of healthcare, housing and social services in the St. Louis community including the six counties of St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Jefferson, Franklin, Warren and St. Charles Counties. I am very grateful to Cathy Flynn, Rosemary Fairhead, and Kathy Sliefert, the Chairpersons of the Event this year, for their hard work and leadership. I am grateful to each CRSS Board member and the Event Committee members for their work and ongoing support of this fundraising event, as well as all our Volunteers who helped with tonight’s Event. Congratulations and thank you to Jack and Julie Lally, the recipients of this year’s Heart and Cross Award, for all that you have done as partners and supporters of CRSS to serve our residents, clients and employees as well as for the impact you continue to make in the Greater St. Louis Community. A very special thank you to our generous Sponsors and Donors! Your ongoing support makes this Event a success and allows CRSS to provide options and resources to our senior adults. I hope that you enjoy our entertainment this evening, The Bob Kuban Band, as well as enjoy time with your family, friends and colleagues. This evening, as you partner with CRSS to provide for senior adults through your support, keep in mind that our residents pray for our benefactors each day. Whenever you think about and want to contribute to the mission of Jesus, please remember Cardinal Ritter Senior Services and together we will bring support, peace and hope to those entrusted to our care. Super Silent Section – located in back hallway • The Super Silent section is open for regular bidding from 6 – 8:15pm with the bid sheets in front of each item as you would bid for other sections. • At 8:15 volunteers will pull bid sheets replacing them with a tag with the highest bid listed on the bid sheet. Small bid tabs will be available for you to write your bidder number, the item number and the highest amount you are willing to bid for the item. This amount must be higher than the number written on the tag now in front of the item. These tabs must be placed in the boxes marked Super Silent at the tables. • At 9pm the boxes will be pulled from the Super Silent table and the section will close. Winning bidders will be notified at the same time and in the same way as all silent auction winners – the winning bid slips will be delivered to tables around 9:45pm. As you are unable to know what others are silently bidding it is important to bid as high as you are willing to go to ensure the winning of the item! 55 Heart and Cross Award nnually the Board of Directors of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services selects a partner in the ministry of caring for senior adults as the Arecipient of the agency’s Heart and Cross award. In past years the CRSS Board selected businesses, agencies, families, funding organizations and individuals as recipients of this special award. This year the CRSS Board selected Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lally to receive the award. Julie and Jack have been key supporters and partners with CRSS for many years and both of them have served actively in the community and continue their service now to the poor, disenfranchised, women at risk and senior adults. Julie began her professional social service career working with foster children. Julie went on to work as a counselor, advocate and mentor to women facing crisis pregnancy. She currently works with Birthright and Marygrove.
