Florida's Finest FLORIDA'S FINEST — Athletes selected to Florida's Finest Team for the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 8, 2006 — We want to heartily thank all the outstanding athletes who took the time and interest to apply to the Florida's Finest program. Each year more runners discover the Florida's Finest program and this year we had 47 athletes apply with many new names and new wonderful talent to select from. With a limit of ten athletes for the Team there were some athletes that we were not able to include that we would have liked to. We have a few athletes who are repeats because their running ability has been maintained at such a high standard. We hope those athletes who did not make the program will continue to run, train and race well and that they will be back next year. You made our job very difficult this year — and we are very, very happy about that. Thank each of you very much. POST COLLEGIATE SUCCESS Here at CU we are no more proud of the successes of present Buffs than we are of those who went on to the next level. Frankly, we don’t believe there is another college program in the country that can boast as many national level professionals. During the tenure of Coach Wetmore, numerous graduates of the Buff distance program have gone on to professional contracts. Seven are currently active. Ten have been Olympians and two have won Olympic Bronze Medals. Twenty-eight have made World Championship Track or Cross Country teams. Eighteen made World teams while still running for CU.
