(Recognized by NCTE) (With effect from the Academic Session - 2012-13) REGULATIONS TWO YEARS SHIKSHASHASTRI-B.Ed COURSE 1. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION INTO THE COURSE A candidate shall be eligible for admission into the Shiksha Shastri -B.Ed. course provided: The candidate has passed Shastri / +3 (Arts) / B.A./M.A/Acharya or any equivalent examination thereto from a recognized University/recognized examining body after qualifying in the SSET (Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test) . Sanskrit as a subject for nontraditional stream i.e. +3 (Arts), B.A. /M.A etc. as desired is mandatory. A cut of mark of 50% (without F.C. & A.C.) in Shastri / +3 (Arts)/M.A/Acharya level in aggregate is essential. Relaxation of 5% marks for S.C. / S.T. candidates is allowed. 2. AGE: The candidate must have to cross minimum age limit of 20 years on 1.6.2016. 3. ENTRANCE TEST: For admission into the course a candidate must have to qualify the entrance test. 4. NUMBER OF SEATS: 50 (Fifty) 5. RESERVATION OF SEATS 80% and 20% of the total seats will be filled up with the candidates who have come through traditional and general streams respectively, duly following the reservation norms (for SC / ST / PH candidates) in each stream. 20% of the 80% seats earmarked for traditional stream will be reserved for the students of S.J.S.V. If reserved seats remain vacant for non-availability of suitable candidates of concerned stream the seats may be allotted to the candidates of other category as the case may be. 6. DURATION OF THE COURSE The duration of the course is two academic years consisting of 400 working days (6 days per week @ 6 hours per day) excluding admission and examination days. The 400 transaction days will include teaching practice and revision examination also. A maximum of 20 days leave may be considered in two academic years. CRITERIA FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: (i) Requisite qualifications as desired under point No.-1 (ii) Candidates whose examination results are awaited may also apply. They will be considered if qualified, subject to submitting proof of acquiring desired qualification at the time of counseling for the purpose. (iii) Eligible in-service person may also apply through proper channel with no objection certificate from the competent authority. -2- AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORM & PROSPECTUS Downloading form the website – www.sjsv.nic.in COST OF FORM Rs.700/- (Rupees Seven hundred) only in the shape of Demand Draft payable at SBI,SJSVV BRANCH,PURI (16102) in favor of Comptroller of Finance, S.J.S.V., Puri.(only in SBI Bank) SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM i) Duly filled in application form along with necessary enclosures should be sent to Principal, Department of Shiksha Shastra -B.Ed, Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya, Shri Vihar, Puri, Odisha, Pin-752003 only by Regd. / Speed Post within stipulated date. ii) In-service candidates are required to send an advance copy along with Demand Draft so as to reach the mentioned addressee on or before the last date of receipt of application. ENCLOSURES: 1. Self attested copies of certificates & mark sheets of the qualifying examinations. 2. The documentary evidence in support of the reserved categories. 3. A self addressed stamped envelope of Rs.22 (Twenty two) only for Registered post/Rs.39 (Thirty nine) only for Speed Post for sending Admit Card and a self addressed unstamped envelope for sending intimation letter respectively. 4. Three recent pass port size photographs duly attested by a gazetted officer. One should be pasted on the application form, one on identity card and one on the admit card. 5. Demand Draft (in original) of Rs.700/- (Rupees Seven hundred) only mentioning full name of the candidate on the back side of the DD. 8. Envelope containing the application must be super scribed “Application for SSET-2016” REJECTION OF APPLICATION FORM 1. Incomplete/ incorrectly filled in/ application received after the due date shall be rejected. 2. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate. 3. In case of detection of any wrong information, in the application shall stand rejected. ENTRANCE TEST (SSET) : The entrance test will be conducted by the University on dt. 01.05.2016 . Full marks: 200 Each question contains one mark. While answering each question, darken only one of the four circles with Blue/Black Pen. MODE OF EVALUATION FOR QUALIFYING CONDITION : Shiksha Shastri is a professional course for teachers. Therefore: Securing at least 40% marks in Sanskrit Language proficiency (Group ‘A’). An aggregate of 80 marks in all groups will be qualified for SSET (Group ‘A’ to ‘E’). PASS RULES FOR ENTRANCE TEST To qualify the Entrance Test a candidates will have to obtain 1) 24 marks out of 60marks in (Group – A) & 2) 80 marks out of 200 in aggregate (i.e. from group A to E) EXAMINATION CENTRE The exact date, venue and other details for the Entrance Test will be communicated in the admit card and in the University Website. ADMIT CARD i) The admit card will be issued in due course through the stamped self addressed envelope. The University is not responsible for non-delivery of the Admit card due to wrong entry in the address. ii) Change of address after submission of application form is not permissible. iii) If the candidate does not receive his/ her Admit Card or any other communication regarding his / her admission to the exam, he / she should at once contact Principal, Department of ShikshaShastra - B.Ed. On the receipt of Admit Card, the candidates should check it carefully and bring discrepancies / errors, if any, to the notice of the Principal, Department of Shiksha Shastri -B.Ed immediately. -5- In case of duplicate Admit Card, two additional photographs are required. The Principal, Department of Shiksha Shastra -B.Ed should be intimated sufficiently before the commencement of Examination. The candidate himself / herself will have to collect the duplicate admit card from the office of the Centre Superintendent concerned on payment of Rs. 50 /- . DISQUALIFICATION FOR EXAMINATION (SSET) Candidates using unfair means by getting external help or helping others or indulging in indiscipline in the test shall be disqualified and disciplinary action may also be initiated against them. In case of mismatch of photograph, suspension from exam / cancellation of admission or any other action deemed fit will be taken against the candidates. For any such action, the candidates will be responsible. In spite of instruction given in the body of Admit Card, if a candidate takes mobile phones, pagers or any other electronic communication device inside the examination premises, he/she will be disqualified to appear at the examination. If the candidate reaches the examination centre after the scheduled time/ without Admit Card/ misbehaves in the examination hall, he/she shall be debarred from appearing the Exam. SELECTION FOR ADMISSION : The candidate must have qualified the SSET, conducted by Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya, Shri Vihar, Puri Scrutiny of eligibility for admission, decision, regarding the quota, verification of reservation etc. is under the control of authority of SJSV, Puri. Admission will be strictly on the basis of number of seats as recognized by NCTE. In case of admission, the decision of the concerned authority of the University shall be final and binding upon. At the time of admission the SSET Admit Card has to be submitted. Out of merit-list prepared, the categories of candidates will be ascertained and the admission procedure will be followed accordingly. GENERAL RESERVATION Out of the total number of seats, reservation as per rules of the Government of Odisha shall be followed. SC- 16.25% ST- 22.5% PH- 3% This reservation may change from time to time as per State Govt. norms. Competent Authorities for issuing the Certificates for Reserved Categories are as under: Candidates belonging to SC / ST category : District Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Tehsildar / Mandal Revenue Officer (M.R.O.) -6- Differently abled and blind : Chief District Medical Officer (Only 40% or more disability will be considered).
