Page 2 of 5 Information Classification: CONFIDENTIAL 5 Speakers Corner – a chance for people to share ideas, thoughts and experiences – open for anyone to speak through the Chair IT gave an update from Helen Charlesworth-May - This week (up to 7th April) there are 54 Covid cases in Cornwall. - Rate of infection now low after lockdown, 9.4 per 100,000 (second lowest in South West region after Devon) - Only have cases in 1/3 of the MSOA (smaller geographical) areas and no area has more than 2 cases currently. - No cases in over 65’s reported in last 7 days or care home outbreaks. - Cornish patients admitted for Covid have declined to low numbers and there are none in ITU in hospitals, including Derriford. - All member briefing last week presented by Department for Public Health showed some risk of future increases in cases expected after 17th May relaxation as vaccine is not fully rolled out and not 100% effective and risk behaviours may change. Keep pushing compliance with the road map and encourage people not to get carried away. Keep encouraging people to get tested and encourage community testing. Any questions please contact [email protected] Comment - RK (Mining Villages Regeneration Group) - reported difficulties with the new Cornwall Council website. Finding forms to report issues such as: illegal rights of way/potholes, is now very difficult. Changes appear incomprehensible in some areas. The website looks dramatically different and not for the better. IS (Portreath Parish Council) – tried to report overflowing dog waste litter bin but no option to enter number of the bin (as you could on the old website) – you can only name the street. AY (Coastline Housing) - Cornwall Housing Strategy – takes you to an old link with ’page not found’ message. Not as helpful for Housing pages. BE – new website requires you to reset your library account and put in a new password. New website launch did not concur with the no surprises message. No one received notice what they were doing and when. There were also comments made about the fact the new website is not user friendly for businesses trying to access information, for example on grants. Proposed IT write, on behalf of CPIR CNP, to the CEO of Cornwall Council, about this lack of forewarning. Similar problem with the change to days for garden waste – no advanced notice. IT to write a letter as Chairman on behalf of the CPIR & Mining Villages CNP. CC/IT 6 Name of the Community Network Charlotte Caldwell CC explained that a more representative name for the CPIR and Mining Villages Community Network Area might be now needed and asked everyone for suggestions. Proposals to date include: Carn to Coast Community Network Area. Page 3 of 5 Information Classification: CONFIDENTIAL Heart of Cornwall Community Network Area. North Kerrier Community Network Area.
