References - Airports References - Airports NDS, as an acknowledged market leader in the transportation sector, is extensively experienced in digital signage solutions in airport environments. More than 80 airports use PADS4 software daily as a mission critical solution to guide millions of people to their destination. Portuguese Nationwide Airport Project – In Portugal, at 9 medium and large airports PADS4 is used as a total information solution that allows airports to facilitate one system hosting all communications towards passengers, employees and airlines. Whether this is FIDS Information, Advertising, Live Television, Passenger Paging Information or Security Information, All information streams are hosted within one system allowing for central administration. Over 1000 displays are powered by PADS4 in this ambitious airport project. Shenyang Airport – Shenyang Taoxian Int. Airport in China has chosen PADS4 to display flight information on 850 screens in their new terminal covering 248.000 square feet. A total of 25 million passengers are expected to use the terminal each year. Other airport references* . Aeroport de Paris (France) . Newark Airport (NY, USA) . Voronezh Airport (Russia) . • Airline Routes and Second Home Tourism. the French Market in the Algarve
AIRLINE ROUTES AND SECOND HOME TOURISM. THE FRENCH MARKET IN THE ALGARVE Cláudia Ribeiro Almeida1 ABSTRACT The new routes and services provided by low cost carriers enable the emergence of new tourist destinations in Europe and the development of new market segments that value the cheap and easy air accessibilities. One of the best examples is second home tourism (normally associated with residential tourism) that grew in recent years, mainly in tourism destinations in the south of Europe and Mediterranean. One of them is the Algarve that receive nowadays new second home owners coming from several countries, mainly because of the region’ great weather conditions, security and air accessibilities. France is one of the new second home market in Algarve, mainly because of the new Non-Habitual Residents (NHR) regime, that provides to new residents a very attractive tax benefits for their 10 years living in Portugal, as well as the new routes provided by low cost carriers since 2016 to eleven airports of France. Keywords: Low Cost Carriers, Residential Tourism, Algarve, French Market. JEL Classification: L85, L93, Z32 1. INTRODUCTION In recent years, air transport significantly increased the number of flights, routes, destinations and passengers, heavily contributing to the process of airspace liberalisation. This process led to a shift from a management model with heavy state intervention to a competitive market model, allowing the entry of low cost carriers. These carriers have enabled consumers to enjoy a wider range of supply and low airfares (Costa & Almeida, 2018). In Europe, this process began in 1987 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and strong growth allowed these carriers to capture quickly a large market share (Costa & Almeida, 2018).

The Office of Airspace Regulation (OAR) has conducted an airspace review within a 15 nautical mile (NM) radius of Avalon Airport to determine if the airspace remains fit for purpose. The review examined the airspace architecture, classifications, procedures and infrastructure from the surface to 8,500 feet (FT) above mean sea level (AMSL). The previous aeronautical study specifically for Avalon was conducted in 2008.1 This airspace review applies CASA’s regulatory philosophy which considers the primacy of air safety, whilst taking into account the environment, security, cost and is consistent with the Australian Airspace Policy Statement 2018 and the Minister’s Statement of Expectations. A multifaceted approach was used in conducting this review, including quantitative and qualitative analysis consisting of: • Aerodrome traffic data; • Airspace design; • Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) incident data; and • Stakeholder consultation.
