A Guide for Owners & Trainers
A GUIDE FOR OWNERS & TRAINERS TUESDAY 30 JULY – SATURDAY 3 AUGUST 2019 THE QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL Welcome To Goodwood Proudly boasting an illustrious history and heritage, Goodwood is an inspirational and unique venue that has often been described as the world’s most beautiful racecourse. I am delighted that the continuing success of the Qatar Goodwood Festival has culminated in further race upgrades, most notably The Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes, upgrading to Group 2 status last year. Goodwood has, for more than 200 years, been about the best racing in the most English of settings, accessible to everyone. Our partnership with Qatar has enabled us to significantly increase the prize money on offer this and it is, as always, key for us that this new money does not just sit at the top end but trickles down to the grassroots of the entire race programme. Royalty, celebrities, sporting heroes, statesmen and diplomats have all enjoyed visiting Goodwood. It now gives me great pleasure to invite some of the very best overseas owners and trainers to be a part of this truly great horseracing Festival and join our ambition to become the best race week experience in the world. The Duke of Richmond and Gordon Owner of Goodwood Over £5million in prize money will be awarded over five thrilling days at Goodwood Racecourse from 30 July – 3 August 2019 The Qatar Goodwood Festival, now in its fifth year, has established itself as one of the most competitive and entertaining weeks in the international racing calendar. Including the increase in prize money for the upgraded Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes the total prize purse for the Festival now exceeds £5.5million and no race will be run for less than £25,000. -

The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races 2008 – the Turf World Championships
Welcome to the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races 2008 – The Turf World Championships. This year’s CXHKIR will welcome its largest ever number of global racing stars to Sha Tin on Sunday, 14 December. Four G1 races, worth a combined HK$62m (approx. US$8m) in stakes, have invited a record 37 international runners to join 18 of the very best from Hong Kong. Sixteen individual G1 winners are present from 11 racing jurisdictions overall. In the FORM GUIDE of each race, the PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS table provides you with a bird-eye's view of the race. This at-a-glance guide gives you a full form summary of the horses in a simple and concise table. Another handy tool is the INTERNATIONAL RATINGS CHART. In weight-for-age races like the Cathay Pacific HKIR, generally speaking, the higher a horse's rating, which is based on racing performance, the better its chance to win. A preliminary SPEED CHART has been included to assist in identifying likely positions in running. Please note that this is preliminary only and the full Speed Map will be available after barrier draw in the SpeedPOWER Form Guide on www.hkjc.com/english/formguide/formguide.asp. If you need further information and analysis, just flip over to the next section where you will find the COMPREHENSIVE PAST PERFORMANCE of the horses. Also included is the FORM ANALYSIS, which highlights the notable achievements and racing characteristics of each horse. Another feature is the RATINGS HISTORY CHART. This chart indicates the quality and consistency of a horse's previous 10 starts through a graphical illustration of the ratings achieved in these races. -

LONGCHAMP (FR) - Sunday, October 6, 2019 Selections and Analysis
LONGCHAMP (FR) - Sunday, October 6, 2019 Selections and Analysis Race 1 - TOTAL PRIX MARCEL BOUSSAC - Gr1, Purse: $440,000 - 2yo Fillies. (9 runners) (turf) about One Mile (1600 meters) 1. PLEGASTELL - Supplemented for this. Daughter of Planteur and has won both her outings at Saint Malo and latterly a Listed event at Craon after missing the break. Respected longshot. 2. FEE HISTORIQUE - Remains a maiden after four runs. Runner up in the middle two of those but only seventh here on her latest start. Would seem to have absolutely zero chance today and is a candidate for last. 3. MARIETA - Daughter of Siyouni has three starts. Runner up on debut at Maisons Laffitte before going back there to win. Big step up second in Gr2 at Deauville in August. Big shout. 4. NUNZIA - Was successful on debut at Marseille Borely in July. Runner up next time in a Listed at Vichy the following month. Fifth in bunch finish behind Savarin last time so more required. 5. BIONIC WOMAN - Promising runner up on debut at Deauville in August before a smooth victory last time out at Saint Cloud. This a big step up in class but trained by Andre Fabre, an absolute legend of the game. 6. FLIGHTY LADY - A debut third here in July which was followed by a win at Deauville the following month. Back here in September to finish third in a Gr3 behind Savarin in a tight enough finish. 7. KENLOVA - Won on debut at Chantilly back in May. Ran only in Gr3 events since. Finished third in the first two of those before close sixth behind Savarin here last time.
