Prof. Linus Osuagwu’s Statement on Teaching, Research, Service & Values a. Research: I have been involved, for many years, in conducting, practical and theoretical research works in marketing, research methodology, small business management, entrepreneurship, contemporary business strategies, and general business administration issues/problems. Presently, I am conducting empirical research works in the following areas, among others: 1. Executive Evaluation of MBA programmes in Nigerian Universities. 2. Market Orientation in Nigerian Political parties. 3. Citizens’ satisfaction with local government administration in Nigeria. 4. Corruption in Nigerian Business organizations. 5. Entrepreneurship knowledge and attitudes of Nigerian university students. 6. Determinants of Students’ choice of academic programmes in Nigerian universities. 7. In addition, I consult for organizations in marketing, business management strategies, entrepreneurship and qualitative & quantitative research works. I have, also, been involved in supervising/examining undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research works in many universities within and outside Nigeria. b. Teaching I have been involved, for many years, in teaching relevant courses in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, Strategic Management, Technology Management and Research Methodology at the undergraduate and postgraduate (M.Sc., MBA and PhD) levels in the Nigerian university system. In addition, I have developed program curricula in Marketing, research methodology and entrepreneurship & small business management courses in the Nigerian universities I have been associated with. I employ relevant modern technologies in teaching of my courses, and use class lectures, presentations/discussions, and practical case situations/studies in all my courses. My teaching philosophy is that every student has inherent academic ability which can be enhanced with the assistance of a Professor. I, therefore, encourage active participation of students in all my courses, in addition to interacting with them via all relevant forms of modern technologies to share their concerns and perspectives. c. I served as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Eastern Palm University owned by the Imo State Government of Nigeria. I have been the Dean of the School of Business & Entrepreneurship at the American University of Nigeria, serve as member of the Senate at the American University of Nigeria Yola, and serve as the Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), in addition to rendering other cognate services within the University. Professor Linus Osuagwu, a UNILAG (University of Lagos) PhD valedictorian, holds degrees of B.Sc. Tech in Management Technology (Second Class Upper Division) from the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria, an M.Sc. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Lagos Nigeria, and a PhD in Business Administration /Marketing(with distinction), also, from the University of Lagos.

He was a Graduate/Research Assistant at the University of Lagos Nigeria; Senior Lecturer at the Lagos State University, the Federal University of Technology Owerri Nigeria, and the Yaba College of Technology Lagos Nigeria; pioneer Head of the Department of Business Administration & Management Technology at the Lagos State University Nigeria; pioneer Professor of Marketing at Covenant University Nigeria; pioneer Chair, Department of Business Administration at the American University of Nigeria Yola; substantive Dean of the School of Business & Entrepreneurship at the American University of Nigeria; pioneer Vice Chancellor of Eastern Palm University in Imo State of Nigeria, and serves as Chair of IRB at the American University of Nigeria Yola.
