Sfarsitul lumii in viziunea lui Roland Emmerich Filmul care tine afisul la Cinematograful "Arta" intre 27 noiembrie si 3 decembrie are un titlul care nu spune de fapt nimic, dar e incitant, pentru ca te pune in situatia de a dori sa-i afli semnificatia: "2012". Acest 2012 marcheaza, in calendarul maias, dupa unele interpretari, sfarsitul celui de-al saselea ciclu de existenta a lumii, ultimul, 21 decembrie 2012, este ziua cand va actiona zeul creatiei si al razboiului, ziua unor cutremuratoare catastrofe la nivel global si a inceputului unei noi si marete transformari spirituale. Tema Apocalipsei nu e noua, ea se regaseste in miturile tuturor marilor civilizatii ale Terrei, dar profetia vechilor maiasi a facut valva in ultimii ani, dupa ce ea a fost coroborata cu alte prevestiri de acest gen, precum cele ale lui Nostradamus. Cel care a vazut in profetia maiasa a sfarsitului lumii un posibil reper pentru realizarea unui film a fost austriacul Harald Kloser, scriitor, producator de filme si compozitor, unul dintre apropiatii cunoscutului regizor Roland Emmerich, si acesta un european, un german pe care Hollywoodul l-a adoptat si l-a propulsat pe scara succesului profesional si financiar. Kloser si Emmerich au scris impreuna o poveste credibila din punct de vedere uman, filozofic si politic despre un dezastru care loveste intreaga omenire, iar Roland Emmerich, aflat la a treia creatie cu tema "catastrofica" (dupa "Independence Day" si "The Day After Tomorrow") s-a intrecut pe sine in privinta punerii in cadru a acestei povesti, in cel mai grandios proiect al sau de pana acum. El a combinat uluitor povestea umana cu efectele speciale si cu tehnicile vizuale cele mai moderne si a oferit publicului un spectacol de mare anvergura, un film care, se pare, va fi recordmenul de incasari al perioadei, chiar daca ruleaza in vremuri ce criza. Joaca in acest film John Cusack (scriitorul Jackson Curtis), Amanda Peet (fosta lui sotie), Danny Glover (presedintele Thomas Wilson), Chiwetel Ejiofor (consilier prezidential), Thandie Newton (Laura, fiica presedintelui), Woody Harrelson (drogatul profetic crainic de radio Charlie Frost). Se pare ca e adevarat ca in vremurile de criza filmele (si stirile!) despre dezastre si catastrofe au audiente mai mari decat in conditii normale. Or fi vremuri de criza si la Sibiu?
