VIRTUAL CLASSROOM Guided Pathways: Supporting Independent and Directional Teaching and Learning

We have created a series of Guided Pathways that can be used to frame lesson planning and directional teaching in your virtual classroom environment.

In this guide, the following titles are explored: • • A Doll’s House • A Streetcar Named Desire • • Things I Know To Be True • All My Sons •

Each pathway ensures that you and your students will have direct access to a selection of resources providing an in-depth insight into the studied text as well as language, context, critical analysis, themes, interpretive choices, creative processes, and performance practice.

INTRODUCTION

Our Guided Pathways are much like a map which plots a direct route to a destination whilst offering you a range of alternative directions.

If the final destination for your students is to feel secure and confident in their knowledge of a particular text, then our Guided Pathways offer both a direct route and the opportunity to go off-road.

However, regardless of the route taken, our Digital Theatre+ Pathways will give direct access to essential content that will support teaching and learning of English Literature/ELA and Drama.

Our starting point in most instances is an immersion in the central story within a play text as we feel that this is the best root from which to grow all other knowledge.

A deep knowledge of the story of a play enables the student to branch off

into other vital elements such as character, context, language, and theme, all of which are surfaced throughout each of our pathways.
