PRESS RELEASE ITV partners with viewability company Meetrics First measurements across all channels show viewability rates above industry-wide benchmarks ITV, the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster, announces that it has partnered with Meetrics, a leading European software company for advertising measurement and analytics, to provide enhanced advertising campaign delivery validation for VOD advertising across ITV Hub platforms. As part of the partnership, Meetrics provides video viewability data and reporting for ITV Hub on connected TV platforms and In-App (Android and iOS) as well as desktop and mobile web campaigns. This enriches the reporting capabilities for VOD campaigns run on ITV Hub and demonstrates the high quality of ITV’s ad inventory on metrics that are important to agencies and advertisers. With the partnership, ITV underlines its commitment to very high transparency standards and quality controls for the benefit of its advertising customers. Meetrics is an independent vendor accredited for various services by the Media Rating Council and committed to strict privacy rules in full accordance with GDPR. With Meetrics as a partner ITV is breaking new ground by being the first broadcaster in the world to make use of the IAB Open Measurement SDK, which is considered the most rigorous standard for In-App viewability measurement. To date, average measurement for campaigns running across ITV Hub showed a viewability rate (according to the MRC definition) of 98%, which is far beyond average, compared to industry viewability benchmarks. The new viewability measurement and reporting will give advertisers huge confidence that ITV can deliver standards on human and viewability measures that outperform the VOD market. -

ITV2 Limited Strategic Report for the Year Ended 31 December 2019 The Directors present their strategic report for the year ended 31 December 2019. Principal activity ITV2 Limited (the "Company") is licensed by Ofcom to broadcast digital programme services in the United Kingdom. The company holds the broadcast licences for the ITV2, ITV4 and ITVBe channels. Fair review of the business The results for the Company show a profit for the year of £86,523,000 (2018: profit of £86,395,000) against sales of £323,513,000 (2018: sales of £322,096,000). KPIs The Directors of the ITV plc Group manage the Group’s operations on a divisional basis with this Company being included within the Broadcast & Online division. For this reason, the Company’s Directors use the ITV plc Group Broadcast & Online division’s operating and performance review in managing and understanding the development, performance and position of the Company. The operating and performance review is included on pages 37 to 43 of ITV plc’s 2019 annual report. Further to the divisional key performance indicators, the Directors would consider the key financial performance indicators of the Company during the year to include: • Revenues, which were up 0.4%, with an increase of 1.2% in Total advertising revenue (TAR). This is ahead of overall ITV Family TAR (down 1.5%) driven by good performance around Love Island. Save Kids’ TV Campaign British children’s television - on the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Five - has been widely acknowledged as amongst the most creative and innovative in the world. But changes in children’s viewing patterns, and the ban on certain types of advertising to children, are putting huge strains on commercial broadcasters. Channel 4 no longer makes children’s programmes and ITV (until recently the UK’s second largest kids’ TV commissioner) has ceased all new children’s production. They are deserting the children’s audience because it doesn’t provide enough revenue. Channel FIVE have cut back their children’s programming too. The international channels - Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network - produce some programming here, but not enough to fill the gap, and much of that has to be international in its focus so that it can be used on their channels in other territories. The recent Ofcom report on the health of children’s broadcasting in the UK has revealed that despite the appearance of enormous choice in children’s viewing, the many channels available offer only a tiny number of programmes produced in the UK with British kids’ interests at their core. The figures are shocking – only 1% of what’s available to our kids is new programming made in the UK. The last few years of the 20th century presented the media with a perfect occasion to conduct their own ad hoc round-ups of the century’s most influential people, most important films, best popular music etc etc. So 2001 is perhaps a little soon to be dipping back into the same baskets, yet Channel 4 has strewn the year with surveys similar to this one (see for example “Top Ten Teen Idols”). One might think such retrospectives were a clear invitation to the over-25s to bask for a short while in the kind of programming they used to enjoy – a brief escape from a television saturated with material aimed at the apolitical, pill-popping post-Thatcherite generation, breast-fed on tabloid culture. Ah but no, Channel 4 are too shrewd for that. Their retrospectives are chiefly an opportunity for that same generation to thumb their noses at everything which preceded their own miraculous lives. And so it goes with this one. It’s some reflection on the value of their poll that the two programmes topping Channel 4’s list were not even children’s programmes anyway! – “The Muppet Show” (no.2) and “The Simpsons” (no.1) never purported to be made for kids, were never broadcast in children’s TV slots, and hence not surprisingly are best favoured by adults. -

U3a Creative Writing Group – “Writing prompt” for April 2021 – by Eileen Truby You are holding a dinner party for 5 guests plus yourself. The guests will be well known people, not necessarily living, but who have contributed to society in some way. Write about why you chose them and describe briefly conversations they would have had with each other and set the menu for the dinner. The guests I would invite are: Ventriloquist Peter Brough and his ventriloquist’s dummy Archie Andrews Ventriloquist Keith Harris and his puppet Orville the Duck Annette Mills and her string puppet Muffin the Mule Harry Corbett (magician and puppeteer) and his glove puppet Sooty the yellow teddy bear. Charlie Drake - Comedian/singer/slapstick artist Host - Eileen Truby The menu would be plain and simple and preferably something that could be eaten one handed as most of my guests would be using one of their hands to manipulate their puppets. I’d choose: Tomato soup with croutons so the guests wouldn’t have to mess about with breaking and buttering rolls. Homemade fish and chips, preferably served in newspaper (easy to pick up with fork or fingers). Finger bowls will be needed for use before dessert. Jelly and custard for dessert (easy to eat with a spoon). Drinks would be beers, wine, soft drinks and tea/coffee. I’ve chosen these guests as they remind me of the innocence and carefree days of my childhood. My children look at me as if I’ve gone mad when I tell them I used to listen to a radio program that starred a ventriloquist dummy called Archie Andrews.
