LAST TIME OUT PROVO, Utah - BYU defeated Idaho State on Tuesday before sweeping New Mexico State in three games over the weekend to move to 19-8 on the season.

The Cougars were the only Western Athletic Conference team to go undefeated in the first weekend of conference play, winning two on walk-off hits.

Jenna Goar a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Aggies 3-2 on Friday. Delaney Willard hit a two- homer to take the initial lead.

After blowing out New Mexico State in the first game of the doubleheader, Willard hit a two-run homer, then a walk-off, three-run shot to break a 3-3 tie and give the Cougars the sweep.

WILLARD EARNS 2ND HITTER OF THE WEEK DENVER – Brigham Young’s Delaney Willard and Hawai‘i’s Stephanie Ricketts have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for March 19-25. This is the second honor of the season for Willard and the fourth of the season and 11th over- all for Ricketts.

Willard, a senior right fielder from Camarillo, Calif., hit .444 with a double, three home runs and seven RBI as the Cougars went 4-0 on the week, including a series sweep of New Mexico State. For the week, she posted a 1.556 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage. In the series finale 2012 WAC STANDINGS (As of 3/26/12) against the Aggies, she became the first Cougar this season to hit two home runs in a game, the sec- ond of which was a three-run, walk-off game-winner.
