Totes les imatges han estat acuradament restaurades i el so mesclat de nou per aquestes noves edicions. Els primers cinc DVD i Blu-Ray de la sèrie, dels que d'algun ja vaig parlar en el primer article d'aquesta secció, son concerts que van des de 1971 a 1990. The Marquee Club Live In 1971 https://www.naciodigital.cat/bergueda/noticia/13639/rolling-stones-vault-arxius-amagats Pagina 1 de 14 El concert es va filmar al mític club Marquee de Londres el 26 de març de 1971, poc després d'acabar la gira de la banda de 1971 i un mes abans del llançament de l'àlbum Sticky Fingers a finals d'abril. Mick Taylor ja estava totalment integrat als Stones i durant la gira la banda ja havia presentat algunes de les cançons del proper àlbum. El concert del Marquee es va filmar per la televisió dels Estats Units i s'hi van incloure quatre temes, Brown Sugar, Dead Flowers, Bitch i I Got The Blues que rarament toquen en directe, del que seria el nou àlbum, Sticky Fingers. Va sortir a la venda el 22 de Juny de 2015. Forum Live In 1975 https://www.naciodigital.cat/bergueda/noticia/13639/rolling-stones-vault-arxius-amagats Pagina 3 de 14 És el segon títol d'aquesta sèrie, la versió exclusiva en descàrrega digital es va titular L.A Friday i es va llançar el 2 d'abril de 2012, la gravació és del diumenge 13 de juliol de 1975, la versió DVD i Blu- Ray va sortir a la venda el 19 de novembre de 2014 però és del concert del dia anterior, dissabte 12 de juliol de 1975. The Rolling Stones Tour Of The Americas 1975 va ser la primera gira de la banda amb el nou guitarrista Ronnie Wood. Abans de començar els concerts, hi va haver força moguda a Nova York durant l'anunci de la gira oficial, la banda va aparèixer per sorpresa a sobre d'un camió tocant Brown Sugar. Després d'un parell de concerts d'escalfament a Louisiana, la gira arrencava amb 44 dates confirmades, entre el 3 de juny i el 8 d'agost de 1975. Es van instal·lar a L.A. El Tour tenia marcades cinquanta dates, que anaven des de Filadèlfia a finals de setembre fins a Hampton, Virginia, els dies 18 i 19 de desembre. El concert del 18 de desembre, dia de l'aniversari de Keith Richards, va ser el primer concert de música que es va emetre a la televisió com un esdeveniment de pay per view. Dues de les notes destacades d'aquest show que surten al DVD, la primera, quan Mick Jagger presenta a la banda, guia al públic en una improvisada versió del Happy Birthday en honor de Keith Richards que complia 38 anys aquell dia, la segona, quan feia poc més d'un minut que tocaven el tema final, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Keith Richards va tenir un enfrontament memorable amb un fan que va saltar a l'escenari per agredir-lo. Sense immutar-se, Richards es despenja la guitarra, l'agafa com un bat de beisbol i s'encara amb el fan, colpejant-lo fins que els guàrdies de seguretat redueixen a l'intrús. Aquest seria l'últim concert dels Rolling Stones amb el cofundador de la banda Ian Stewart al piano i la seva última gira en set anys. La resta del setlist és molt semblant al del Hampton Coliseum Live In 1981, en aquest inclou la cançó Angie, que no apareix al Hampton Coliseum, en canvi, cauen dos temes que si apareixen al Hampton, Waiting On A Friend i Let It Bleed. Es va gravar a Leeds el 25 de juliol de 1982 i es va editar en exclusiva per descàrrega digital el 16 d'octubre de 2012 amb el títol Live At Leeds, mentre que l'edició d'aquest concert en DVD i Blu-Ray va sortir al mercat el 9 de novembre de 2015. Inclou alguns temes que rarament s'havien vist, com Ruby Tuesday. Destaca també per un parell de moments històrics, aquesta va ser l'ultima gira de la banda amb el baixista cofundador Bill Wyman i els primers concerts que The Rolling Stones feien al Japó desprès del seu anterior intent a principis dels anys setanta. Mick Jagger va dir, "És la primera vegada que toquem al Japó, mai no hi havíem tocat, no podíem anar-hi, perquè no ens deixaven entrar per problemes de visats i de drogues". Keith Richards afegia que la pressió dels fans finalment va convèncer a les autoritats perquè els permetessin tocar. La nova edició, titulada Totally Stripped, inclou tres concerts sencers, al Paradiso d'Amsterdam (maig de 1995), l'Olympia de París i la Brixton Academy de Londres (juliol 1995), a més d'un documental. Totally Stripped no és de les series From The Vault com els altres. De fet, he de confessar que l'article el vaig pensar per parlar només del Totally Stripped i del Sticky Fingers Live At The Fonda Theatre 2015, però un cop posat valia la pena ampliar-lo a tots els arxius amagats que hi ha editats dels Rollings Stones. També tinc de dir que l'àlbum Stripped (1995) ha estat sempre la meva debilitat, però amb aquesta ?segona part? ja és insuperable.

    Love You Live IORR The Album Andy Warhol’s diary entry for Tuesday, April 12, 1977. “Mick wants me to do the cover on his next album. I’m trying to think of ideas, how to do “Rolling Stones,” one of those little plastic games where you have to roll the stones into the holes.” Remember those games? Imagine one with stones instead of tiny B-B’s, a Rolling Stones theme on a piece of cardboard about one-foot square. That is what Love You Live could have been. Instead, this album is probably remembered more for the art created by Andy Warhol than for any of the songs it includes. The album was recorded in Los Angeles, London, Paris and Toronto, most of these during the tour for 1976's Black and Blue. One writer has described Love You Live as an album that captures the transition from “a lean, lethal rock & roll band to accomplished showmen.” Showmen may not be as compelling as rockers but they do know their art. Love You Live, a double album, was released 23 September 1977. The Title The story about the title is not how it came to be so much as how it came to be written on the cover. The provenance of the album’s title is not documented in available literature but it is almost an automatic choice for a live album, we Love You Live and just about any other way the Stones found their way onto vinyl. Andrew Loog Oldham, the Stones manager during their early days, started a bit of a tradition by leaving the band’s name and the album title off the Stones first two album covers (1964 and 1965).

    The First Forty Years A Book In The Cyber Age (Planned Book Preface, 2002) Each edition of my Rolling Stones discography so far has been preceded by the success of one or more new media formats. For my 1985 book Heart Of Stone it was the VHS tape, for the 1996 publication it was the CD and this time it is the CD-R, the DVD and the Internet. CD-Rs are not being dealt with here in any detail; suffice it to say that today almost anybody can burn their private copies of existing CDs and CD-Rs, hence it is virtually impossible to say what’s on the market. DVDs are something different, offering the best both in audio and in picture quality. In the past four or five years a number of important Rolling Stones films have officially been released in this fascinating format: “THE STONES IN THE PARK” (originally released in 1969), “GIMME SHELTER” (1970) , “ROLLING STONES LIVE AT THE MAX” (1990), “ROLLING STONES VOODOO LOUNGE” (1995), and “BRIDGES TO BABYLON WORLD TOUR ‘97”/’98”. “LET’S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER” (from 1982) also saw the light of day, at least in Brazil. Only five or six years ago, no-one could foresee the changes the Internet would bring about in our daily lives - and it goes without saying that a lot of information assembled in this book has been gathered from the web. Perhaps just as important: e-mail has made world-wide contacts so much simpler. And I’m glad to say that I have experienced a lot of support and enthusiasm from collectors, authors, musicians and producers from all over the world.
