The Mills College Art Museum is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new work by Bay Area artist Binh Danh entitled, Collecting Memories, featuring daguerreotypes, chlorophyll prints, photographs, and historical artifacts, which capture past and present memories of the American-Vietnam War. Collecting Memories is co-curated by Lori Chinn and Stephanie Hanor and will be on view from August 21 through December 12, 2010. An opening reception with the artist will take place on August 25 from 5:30–7:30 pm. Binh Danh collects photographs and other remnants of the American-Vietnam War and reprocesses and represents them in ways that bring new light to a complicated, multivalent history. Danh is known for his unique chlorophyll printing process in which he takes found portraits of war casualties and anonymous soldiers and transfers them onto leaves and grasses through the process of photosynthesis. While Danh left Vietnam with his family at a young age, return trips to the country have profoundly influenced the development of his work. Danh’s recent work uses a combination of found images from the American-Vietnam War and photographs taken by the artist on recent visits to Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. “History is not something in the past.

Dr. Clark was one of the contribut- ing scientists to the work of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UNIPCC) which as an organization as awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in December 2007. In 2004, he founded, and now manages, Clark Strategic Partners (CSP), an environmental and renewable energy consulting firm using his political- economic expertise in order to guide, advise and implement for public and private clients worldwide – specifically on sustainable smart green communities of all kinds ranging from colleges and universities to shopping malls, office buildings, and film studios. Second Edition February 2014 Page 2 How to use this guide This one goes out to the ladies We wrote this guide for all young women interested in pursuing higher education. Full stop. Yes, researchers tell us that less than 5% of high school-aged women will even consider applying to women’s colleges, but we wrote this for all young women who are thoughtfully analyzing ALL of their college options. We also wrote this guide to help arm high school guidance counselors, independent college counselors, and community-based college advisors with valid, interesting, and perhaps even funny information about women’s colleges they can share with their students. So, if you’re a high school student reading this guide, our goal is to provide you with an alternative viewpoint on your college search, one that you may not have previously thought about.
