گزارش انگل های داخلی و خارجی پرنده ابیا اوراسیایی )Scolopax Rusticola( در شمال ایران Archive of SID نشریه میکربیولوژی دامپزشکی/ دوره پانزدهم، شماره دوم، 8931، پیاپی 93: 883-821 گزارش انگلهای داخلی و خارجی پرنده ابیا اوراسیایی (Scolopax rusticola) در شمال ایران محمد اسدی ایرایی1، محمدرضا یوسفی*2، شهاب رمضانپور3، محمدجواد مشایخ نیا4، محمدرضا رودکی4، محمدمهدی یزدانیرستم4 1 دامپزشک عمومی، عضو باشگاه پژوهشگران و نخبگان جوان 2 دانشیار انگلشناسی دامپزشکی، دانشکده دامپزشکی واحد بابل دانشگاه آزاد اسﻻمی، بابل،ایران 3 دانشجوی دکتری پاتولوژی تخصصی دامپزشکی، دانشگاه تهران 4 دانشجوی مقطع دکتری دامپزشکی، دانشگاه آزاد اسﻻمی بابل، عضو باشگاه پژوهشگران و نخبگان جوان تاریخ دریافت: 23/11/1331 تاریخ پذیرش: 1338/11/11 خﻻصه: ابیاها به عنوان یک گروه از هشت گونهی زندهی مرغ های پا دراز در جنس اسکولوپکس )Scolopax( در نظر گرفته میشوند که در جنگل- های مخلوط یا برگ ریز زندگی و معموﻻ به صورت منفرد مهاجرت میکنند و همچنین یکی از پرندگانی است که دارای آلودگی های انگلی است. در این پژوهش از مجموع 18 پرنده ابیا اوراسیایی )S. rusticola( )11 نر و 1 ماده( که توسط مأموران محیط زیست مازندران از شکارچیان غیر مجاز ضبط شد، به منظور مطالعهی انگلهای خارجی و داخلی مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند که در نتایج، میزان عفونت کلی انگلی در پرندههای مورد مطالعه 111 % و انگلهای خارجی و داخلی پرندگان شامل دو گونه سستود ).Hymenolepis spp و Davinia proglottina(، یک گونه ترماتد )Echinoparyphium(، یک گونه جرب )Megninia cubitalis( و دو گونه شپش )Philopterus و Lipeurus( است. عﻻوه بر این، شایع ترین آلودگی با 22/12 درصد انگل )M. cubitalis( بوده است. یافتهها و مقایسهی آنها با مطالعههای دیگر نشان می دهند که ابیای اوراسیایی با توجه اهمیت مهاجرت، نقش مهمی در انتقال انگلها داشته و نیاز به تحقیقهای بیشتر در مورد این پرنده و سایر پرندگان مهاجر در ایران احساس میشود و همچنین این مطالعه نخستین گزارش انگلهای مذکور در پرنده ابیا اوراسایی از ایران است. کلمات کلیدی: ابیا، اوراسیا، انگل، ایران نویسنده مسئول: محمد رضا یوسفی آدرس: گروه انگل شناسی، دانشکده دامپزشکی، دانشگاه آزاد اسﻻمی واحد بابل- ایران. تلفن: 13111148131 پست الکترونیک: [email protected] www.SID.ir 821. نشریه میکروبیولوژی دامپزشکی/ پانزدهم، شماره دوم، 8931، پیاپی Archive of SID 93 مقدمه مواد و روش ابیاها به عنوان یک گروه از هشت گونهی زندهی مرغ در طی ماههای آبان تا بهمن سال 1331، 18 بهله ابیای های پا دراز در جنس اسکولوپکس )Scolopax( در اوراسیایی از شکارچیان غیرمجاز توسط ماموران محیط نظر گرفته میشوند)10(. امروزه گونه هایی که از این زیست مازندران توقیف گردید که در میان این پرنده ها باقی مانده اند شامل ابیای اوراسیایی پرندگان، 11 بهله نر و 1 بهله ماده وجود داشته است. )Eurasian woodcock(، ابیای بوکیدنون ) Bukidnon تمامی نمونهها جهت انجام آزمایشهای انگلی به woodcock(، ابیای امامی )Amami woodcock(، آزمایشگاه تشخیص طبی دانشکده دامپزشکی دانشگاه ابیای گینهی نو )New Guinea woodcock(، ابیا آزاد اسﻻمی واحد بابل ارسال گردید. برای جداسازی جاوان )Javan woodcock(، ابیا سوﻻوسی ) Sulawesi انگلهای خارجی از بدن و بالهای پرنده به وسیلهی woodcock(، ابیای ملوکن )Moluccan woodcock( نیدل، از دستگاه استریومیکروسکوپ استفاده و هر و ابیای آمریکایی )American woodcock( است)5(. نمونه با یک قطره ﻻکتوفنول به مدت 12 ساعت تا 1 ابیا اوراسیایی به یک زیستگاه تولید مثل وسیع شامل هفته واضح گردید. به منظور یافتن انگلهای داخلی، بخش های تفکیک نشدهی درختان پهن برگ برگریز سراسر دستگاه گوارش شامل معده، رودهی کوچک و یا پهن برگ مخلوط و درختان (Coniferous) با بوته رودهی بزرگ به صورت طولی برش داده شده و برای های متراکم زیرین آن نیازمند است. این پرندهدارای جمع شدن تمام محتویات، چندین بار مورد آبکشی قرار دامنهی پراکندگی وسیع در حدود11 میلیون کیلومتر گرفتند. محتوای هر عضو به صورت جداگانه با Mesh مربعی بوده و جمعیت آن نیز به 11 میلیون میرسد. 70 بررسی و سپس قسمتهای باقی مانده برای ابیاها معموﻻ به صورت منفرد مهاجرت میکنند تحقیقات بیشتر به ظرفهای پتریدیش منتقل گردیدند. درحالیکه شرایط جغرافیایی و آب و هوایی می توانند ترماتدها و سستودهای استخراج شده پس از فیکس آنها را مجبور به جمع شدن یا باهم بودن کند)5(. شدن و نگهداری در اتانول 11%، رنگآمیزی با فصل مهاجرت ابیا اوراسیایی در ایران، غالبا از آبان تا روشهای اسید کارمین و فرآیندهای آبگیری و بهمن است. هر ساله تعداد زیادی از پرندگان مهاجر شفافسازی، در چسب کانادا بالزام فیکس گردیدند. دریایی از نیمکرهی شمالی به استان مازندران در شمال همچنین شناسایی کرمها با استفاده از کلیدهای ایران مهاجرت میکنند. استانهای شمالی ایران به عنوان سیستماتیک موجود، انجام گرفت. اقامتگاههای زمستانی مناسب برای پرندگان دریایی نتایج مهاجر و همچنین مقیم شمرده میشوند. با این حال میزان عفونت کلی انگلی در نمونههای مورد مطالعه توجه کافی بر شیوع و شدت آلودگی انگلی ابیای 111 درصد )18 قطعه( بوده است که 11/11 درصد )11 - The conservation status of the 10 extant species (three oystercatchers, one stilt, four plovers and two snipe) is outlined and the factors that predisposed them to predation by introduced mammals are summarised. Individual species accounts are presented, including data on population trends, known or suspected impacts of predation, identi®cation of important predator species, other threats, and conservation measures currently in place or required. One species and two subspecies are extinct, three species are con®ned to predator-free islands and another is found only on the Chatham Islands group. Six survive on the mainland but three have declined to varying degrees and are assigned threatened status by Collar et al. (1994). Only one plover and two oystercatchers are still relatively numerous and/or widespread. Rats, cats and mustelids have had the greatest overall impacts. Due to the rapid pace of deforestation, the high biodiversity contained within, and the difficulty of access and standardized field surveys, the tropics are a key front for using remote sensing to identify target areas for conservation action and, more recently, to inform species-level trends. This study focuses on deforestation in eastern Indonesia, which has some of the highest rates of forest clearing in the world from mining, plantation expansion, timber extraction, and shifting agriculture. Forest loss on the highly biodiverse islands of the North Maluku district in eastern Indonesia was examined from 1990 to 2003 and the conservation status of 39 restricted-range avian species found in the area was re-assessed from these trends. Of the land area available for analysis, forests declined from 86% to just under 70% in these thirteen years, with much of this occurring in the lowlands (below 400m). Consequently, those species with large amounts of their range at low elevations were disproportionately affected, with 10 out of 25 endemic species being under more threat than currently listed by the IUCN Red List and only 3 being considered safer than currently listed.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA II 12– 28 August / 1 September 2016 LEADER: DANI LOPEZ VELASCO Our second tour to Papua New Guinea – including New Britain - in 2016 was a great success and delivered an unprecedented number of high quality birds. A total of 21 species of Birds-of-paradise (BoPs), - undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary, and “out of this world” bird families in the world, were recorded, perhaps most memorable being a superb male Blue BoP, scoped at close range near Kumul for as long as we wished and showing one of the most vivid blue colours in the animal world. Just as impressive though were spectacular performances by displaying Raggiana and Greater BoPs in excellent light, with up to 8 males lekking at a time, a stunning male King BoP and two displaying males Twelve-wired BoPs at the Elevala River, a cracking adult male Magnificent BoP in the scope for hours at Tabubil, several amazing King-of-Saxony BoPs, waving their incredible head plumes like some strange insect antennae in the mossy forest of Tari Valley, great sightings of both Princess Stephanie´s and Ribbon-tailed Astrapias with their ridiculously long tail feathers, superb scope studies of Black and Brown Sicklebills uttering their machine-gun like calls, and so on. While Birds-of-paradise are certainly the signature family in PNG, there is of course 1 BirdQuest Tour Report: Papua New Guinea II www.birdquest-tours.com plenty more besides, for example we recorded a grand total of 33 species of pigeons and doves, -they reach their greatest diversity here in New Guinea, as do kingfishers-, including nine Fruit Doves, a rare New Guinea Bronzewing feeding on the road, and, during the extension, both Black Imperial Pigeon and Pied Cuckoo-Dove.

(JM) ULTIMATE PAPUA NEW GUINEA II 25 AUGUST – 11 / 15 SEPTEMBER 2019 LEADER: JULIEN MAZENAUER Our second Ultimate Papua New Guinea tour in 2019, including New Britain, was an immense success and provided us with fantastic sightings throughout. A total of 19 Birds-of-paradise (BoPs), one of the most striking and extraordinairy bird families in the world, were seen. The most amazing one must have been the male Blue BoP, admired through the scope near Kumul lodge. A few females were seen previously at Rondon Ridge, but this male was just too much. Several males King-of-Saxony BoP – seen displaying – ranked high in our most memorable moments of the tour, especially walk-away views of a male obtained at Rondon Ridge. Along the Ketu River, we were able to observe the full display and mating of another cosmis species, Twelve-wired BoP. Despite the closing of Ambua, we obtained good views of a calling male Black Sicklebill, sighted along a new road close to Tabubil. Brown Sicklebill males were seen even better and for as long as we wanted, uttering their machine-gun like calls through the forest. The adult male Stephanie’s Astrapia at Rondon Ridge will never be forgotten, showing his incredible glossy green head colours. At Kumul, Ribbon-tailed Astrapia, one of the most striking BoP, amazed us down to a few meters thanks to a feeder especially created for birdwatchers. Additionally, great views of the small and incredible King BoP delighted us near Kiunga, as well as males Magnificent BoPs below Kumul.

    Papua New Guinea II Trip Report nd th 22 July to 8 August 2012 Southern Crowned Pigeon by Simon Woolley Tour Leaders: Erik Forsyth & Rich Lindie RBT Trip Report – Papua New Guinea II 2012 2 Tour Summary We started off our Papua New Guinea tour with a visit to the Pacific Adventist University near Port Moresby. Birding the various dams and ponds we enjoyed superb sightings of Green Pygmy Goose, Wandering and Plumed Whistling Ducks, Pied Heron, Dusky Moorhen and numerous Comb- crested Jacanas. After a bit of a search, four of the scarce Spotted Whistling Duck were found roosting in trees in a more secluded area. A casual stroll around the manicured gardens saw us enjoying Orange- fronted Fruit Dove, Fawn-breasted Bowerbird, Rufous-banded Honeyeater, the localized Black-backed Butcherbird and Australasian Figbird, while a pair of massive Papuan Frogmouth was scoped at their day roost much to everyone’s delight. A great start to this 2012 tour! From our base we journeyed into the mid- elevation forests of Varirata National Park in the Stanley Owen Range of Mountains (950m) near Port Moresby. Our time spent in this species rich reserve was most enjoyable. Traversing the network of trails and forest edge we were delighted with sightings of Barred Owlet- nightjar peering out of its roosting hole, the beautiful Brown-headed Paradise Kingfisher (a Papua New Guinea endemic), huge Blue-winged and Rufous-bellied Kookaburras, Forest and Yellow-billed Kingfishers, White-throated and Streak-headed Honeyeaters, Papuan Black Myzomela, Black Berrypecker, Black Cicadabird and Hooded Pitohui. We had good looks at the splendid Australasian Figbird by John Caddick Raggiana Bird-of-paradise – several males were heard and seen in the surrounding trees, although rather shy at times.

These have been well described for Eurasian 1996, Clements 2007), whereas others treat them as separate Woodcock S. rusticola (Cramp & Simmons 1983), American species on the basis of subtle morphological differences and a Woodcock S. minor (Keppie & Whiting 1994), New Guinea Woodcock substantial range separation (Kennedy et al. 2001 [followed by S. rosenbergii (Mayr & Rand 1937) and, more recently, Bukidnon BirdLife International 2014], Dickinson & Remsen 2013). Here the Woodcock S. bukidnonensis (Kennedy et al. 2001) and Moluccan display behaviour and vocalisations of Javan Woodcock are Woodcock S. rochussenii (Cottee-Jones et al. 2013). Amami described and comments made on their implications for taxonomy. Woodcock S. mira apparently does not conduct roding displays (Brazil & Ikenaga 1987) and the display of Sulawesi Woodcock S. Display behaviour celebensis remains undocumented. The final species, Javan Between 19 and 26 September 2013, a single Javan Woodcock was Woodcock S. saturata, was described by Bartels (1940) but this observed displaying daily at dawn and dusk at Camp Bajuri, situated publication has since been overlooked and modern descriptions at 1,350 m on the south-west slope of Gn Salak, West Java (6.731°S of the vocalisations and display of Javan Woodcock are lacking.

    Papua New Guinea Birding in Paradise IV 21st July to 6th August 2019 (18 days) Trip Report Flame Bowerbird by Jacques Erard Tour Leaders: Adam Walleyn and Gareth Robbins Trip report compiled by Tour Leader: Adam Walleyn Rockjumper Birding Tours www.rockjumperbirding.com Trip Report – RBL Papua New Guinea – Birding in Paradise IV 2019 2 Tour Summary Our group assembled in Port Moresby and set off on a lovely afternoon for an exploration of the Pacific Adventist University grounds, full of eager anticipation for the epic adventure ahead. A quick stop en route at some rice fields produced several Raja Shelducks and numerous Pied Herons amongst more widespread species. A few hours gentle walking on the grounds yielded all the hoped-for specialties: Black-backed Butcherbird, Fawn-breasted Bowerbird, Grey-headed Mannikin and a pair of massive yet perfectly camouflaged Papuan Frogmouths on their day roost in an enormous raintree. The various water bodies were full of birds including Comb-crested Jacana, Grey Teal, Plumed and Wandering Whistling Ducks, Australian White Ibis, Nankeen Night Heron, Intermediate Egret and many more. Several trees were dripping with fruiting figs Plumed Whistling Duck by Ma Yan Bryant and playing host to unusually large numbers of Orange-fronted and Orange -bellied Fruit Doves, Torresian Imperial Pigeon, Australasian Figbird, Brown Oriole, and Yellow-faced Myna. A very birdy introduction to this amazing country! One of our earliest starts of the tour saw us leaving Port Moresby and winding up the Sogeri Plateau, flushing a Large-tailed Nightjar off the road along the way. In the early morning light, we arrived at the Raggiana Bird-of-paradise lek and could already hear several males giving their raucous calls.

Birds vary widely in size from the Bee Hummingbird Mellisuga helenae to Common Ostrich Struthio camelus, and come in a staggering range of shapes. Last century, the feld of eco-morphology began to shed light on the way birds are shaped by habitat preferences and foraging behaviour, but studies focused on relatively few species and left numerous gaps in understanding. Joe’s talk explored recent research based on detailed measurements of almost all of the world’s bird species, and described how this new infux of information has been combined with spatial, phylogenetic and ecological data to help answer some fundamental questions, such as how does bird diversity arise, and how can it best be conserved? Because we are fascinated by birds, yes, but why are humans so captivated by the ecology, evolution and behaviour of another vertebrate group that a UK Government Chief Scientist should complain that a disproportionate amount was spent on bird research to the detriment of other taxa? Whatever the answer to this, the fact that humans everywhere are enthralled by birds should point the way to how we might engage, re-engage or differently engage people in all countries with nature, and so focus resources most effectively for its conservation.

Raggiana Bird-of-paradise Tour Summary We started off our tour with a visit to the Pacific Adventist University where we visited various dams and enjoyed superb sightings of Spotted Whistling Duck, confiding Nankeen Night Heron, beautiful Comb- crested Jacana and smart looking Raja Shelduck. Two unusual finds here were Plumed Whistling Duck and Hardhead, both scarce migrant ducks from Australia. A casual stroll around the manicured gardens saw us finding Fawn-breasted Bowerbird, Rufous-banded Honeyeater, localized Black-backed Butcherbird, Grey Shrikethrush, Australasian Figbird and best of all a pair of the huge Papuan Frogmouth. This rounded off a superb start to this fabulous tour. From here we journeyed into the mid- elevation forests of Varirata National Park. Our time spent in this species rich reserve was most enjoyable. Traversing the network of trails we were delighted with sightings of a superb pair of Marbled Frogmouth, Barred Owlet-nightjar peering out of its roosting hole, endemic Brown-headed Paradise Kingfisher, the cute Yellow-billed Kingfisher, White- faced Robin, Black Berrypecker, Fairy Gerygone, buzzing Dwarf Longbill, Yellow-breasted Boatbill, Pygmy Drongo, Spot-winged and colourful Black- faced Monarchs, noisy Growling Riflebird and Goldenface.
