Square Footage Vacancy - Q2 2011 Certificates of Occupancy • In May 2011, a total of 11 Certificates of Occupancy were issued, of which five were for retail, four were for o!ce and two was for industrial space. This compares to three Certificates of Occupancy issued in May 2010. 29% 31% • The Certificates of Occupancy issued in May 2011 represent a total of 46,791 (907,162) (972,760) square feet, of which 46% was for o!ce, 34% was for industrial and the remaining 20% was for retail.     10/10/18 BOT Chancellor’s Report 2 2018 CHAMPION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION College of the Canyons was honored to be named “2018 Champion for Higher Education” by The Campaign for College Opportunity for our work in awarding Associate Degrees for Transfer. In 2010 The Campaign for College Opportunity sponsored historic transfer reform legislation that created a clearer path for students to earn an associate degree and guaranteed admission to a California State University with junior standing. To date, over 100,000 students have earned an Associate Degree for Transfer and of those who enrolled in the CSU, they earned their Bachelor’s degree nearly twice as fast as other transfer students. In a letter to us, The Campaign for College Opportunity said that “College of the Canyons is a leading example of strong implementation of the Associate Degree for Transfer Pathway for students and is a model for other colleges in California to emulate.” COC will be recognized at the Champions of Higher Education celebration on Tuesday, December 4th. 10/10/18 BOT Chancellor’s Report 3 COC # 1 COLLEGE FOR ADULT LEARNERS IN SO CA! CLWA has a water acquisition agreement with the Buena Vista Water Storage District (Buena Vista) and the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District (Rosedale-Rio Bravo) in Kern County. Under this Program, 11,000 AF of high flow Kern River water is annually delivered to CLWA at the California Aqueduct in Kern County. This water is then conveyed through the State Water Project to Castaic Lake. Since 2000, CLWA has worked hard to establish a diverse water portfolio. The Agency has five groundwater banking accounts in three separate programs. Two accounts are in the Semitropic Water Storage District Groundwater Banking Program. These accounts are short-term, ten-year accounts that were extended an additional ten years each. Both accounts contain excess SWP Table A water that must be delivered to the Agency (or another Agency groundwater account) prior to the end of the agreements. The Agency initiated participation in the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District Groundwater Banking Program. This program allows the storage of the Agency’s SWP Table A amount and other imported supplies. The Agency implemented a two-for-one exchange with the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District, whereby CLWA can recover one AF of water for each two AF banked.
