ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 54 By: Jolley, Adelson, Aldridge, Anderson, Barrington, Bass, Branan, Brogdon, Cain, Capps, Coates, Coffee, Corn, Crain, Crutchfield, Easley, Eason McIntyre, Fisher, Ford, Garrison, Gumm, Harrison, Hobson, Johnson, Justice, Kerr, Lamb, Laster, Laughlin, Lawler, Leftwich, Lerblance, Mazzei, Monson, Morgan, Myers, Nichols, Paddack, Pruitt, Rabon, Reynolds, Riley, Shurden, Taylor, Wilcoxson, Williamson, Wilson and Wyrick A Resolution congratulating Edmond North High School for their conference, regional, and state championships; commending the school for developing its student talent; and directing distribution. WHEREAS, the student teams at Edmond North High School, located on Danforth Road in Edmond, Oklahoma, proudly wear the school colors of Navy and Gray and are referred to as the Huskies; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School girls softball team won the class 6A state championship; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School boys golf team upset the six-time defending state champion to win the class 6A state golf championship and was the only team to break 300 in the final round, claiming victory by a 22-stroke margin; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School boys swimming team won the 2004-2005 class 5A state championship, as well as their conference championship. The girls swimming team also won their conference championship; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School girls cross-country team not only won the regional championship, but the academic title as well; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School is also equally proud of its one-act play team whose accomplishments also demonstrate the ability of Huskie students. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 50TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE: THAT the Oklahoma State Senate congratulates all the Huskie teams from Edmond North High School who won conference, regional, and/or state championships. THAT the Oklahoma State Senate commends Edmond North High School for developing the academic and athletic talent of its students. THAT a copy of this resolution be distributed to Edmond North High School Principal Dr. Ed Story and Athletic Director Tom Snider. Adopted by the Senate the 26th day of May, 2005. Edmond North High School Student-Athlete Named Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Player of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kelsey Rhoney (312-729-3685) EDMOND NORTH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETE NAMED GATORADE OKLAHOMA BOYS SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO (June 6, 2018) — In its 33rd year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, today announced Daryl Dike of Edmond North High School as its 2017-18 Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Dike is the first Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Edmond North High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Dike as Oklahoma’s best high school boys soccer player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year award to be announced in June, Dike joins an elite alumni association of past state soccer award-winners, including Alexi Lalas (1987-88, Cranbrook HS, Mich.), Steve Cherundolo (1996-97, Mt. Carmel HS, Calif.), Abby Wambach (1997-98, Our Lady of Mercy, N.Y.), Heather O’Reilly (2001-02, 2002-03, East Brunswick HS, N.J.), Matt Besler (2004-04, Blue Valley West HS, Kans.), Jack Harrison (2013- 14, Berkshire HS, Mass.), Mallory Pugh (2014-15, Mountain Vista HS, Colo.). The 6-foot-1, 210-pound senior forward scored 19 goals and passed for 5 assists this past season, leading the Huskies (11-7) to the Class 6A semifinals. The two-time Tulsa World All-City Player of the Year, Dike broke the Class 6A state record for career goals scored, graduating with 71 goals, and was named the Jim Thorpe Male Player of the Year in soccer.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: John Manzo (312-729-3656) EDMOND MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT-ATHLETE NAMED GATORADE OKLAHOMA VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO (January 17, 2017) — In its 32st year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, today announced Alli Evans of Edmond Memorial High School as its 2016-17 Gatorade Oklahoma Volleyball Player of the Year. Evans is the fourth Gatorade Oklahoma Volleyball Player of the Year to be chosen from Edmond Memorial High School. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Evans as Oklahoma’s best high school volleyball player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year award to be announced in January, Evans joins an elite alumni association of state award-winners in 12 sports, including USA Volleyball players Kayla Banwarth (2006-07, Wahlert HS, Iowa), Alisha Glass (2005-06, Leland Public HS, Mich.), Jordan Larson (2004-05, Logan View HS, Neb.) and Foluke Akinradewo (2004-05, St. Thomas HS, Fla.). The 6-foot-1 senior outside hitter led the Bulldogs to a 31-2 record and the Class 6A state championship this past season. Evans tallied 350 kills, 433 digs, 60 blocks and 42 service aces while posting a kill percentage of .432 and a hitting percentage of .357. A MaxPreps Third Team All-American, Evans was the state tournament MVP. She concluded her prep volleyball career with 1,091 kills and 1,220 digs.
