ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 54 By: Jolley, Adelson, Aldridge, Anderson, Barrington, Bass, Branan, Brogdon, Cain, Capps, Coates, Coffee, Corn, Crain, Crutchfield, Easley, Eason McIntyre, Fisher, Ford, Garrison, Gumm, Harrison, Hobson, Johnson, Justice, Kerr, Lamb, Laster, Laughlin, Lawler, Leftwich, Lerblance, Mazzei, Monson, Morgan, Myers, Nichols, Paddack, Pruitt, Rabon, Reynolds, Riley, Shurden, Taylor, Wilcoxson, Williamson, Wilson and Wyrick A Resolution congratulating Edmond North High School for their conference, regional, and state championships; commending the school for developing its student talent; and directing distribution. WHEREAS, the student teams at Edmond North High School, located on Danforth Road in Edmond, Oklahoma, proudly wear the school colors of Navy and Gray and are referred to as the Huskies; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School girls softball team won the class 6A state championship; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School boys golf team upset the six-time defending state champion to win the class 6A state golf championship and was the only team to break 300 in the final round, claiming victory by a 22-stroke margin; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School boys swimming team won the 2004-2005 class 5A state championship, as well as their conference championship. The girls swimming team also won their conference championship; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School girls cross-country team not only won the regional championship, but the academic title as well; and WHEREAS, the Edmond North High School is also equally proud of its one-act play team whose accomplishments also demonstrate the ability of Huskie students. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 50TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE: THAT the Oklahoma State Senate congratulates all the Huskie teams from Edmond North High School who won conference, regional, and/or state championships. THAT the Oklahoma State Senate commends Edmond North High School for developing the academic and athletic talent of its students. THAT a copy of this resolution be distributed to Edmond North High School Principal Dr. Ed Story and Athletic Director Tom Snider. Adopted by the Senate the 26th day of May, 2005.
