  • Sao Paulo Travel Information
Sao Paulo Travel Information São Paulo, Brazil To say São Paulo is a sprawling megalopolis is a serious understatement; it's as difficult to master at first glance as Moby Dick. Founded by Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century, it dwarfs other Brazilian cities in all aspects. Sampa, as locals call it, might not have the famous modernist architecture of Brasilia, the lure of sultry beaches of Bahia, or the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer to watch over, yet its certain effervescence elevates traveling souls. The largest metropolitan area south of the Equator, not just in Brazil, overwhelms the senses with cutting-edge art galleries, vibrant street art (Pichação), finest restaurants, and jovial nightlife. A cosmopolitan chaos of mashed cultures, it emanates a vibe of New York in South America. The city is a part tropical paradise as harmless showers drizzle the fast-paced (but warm-heated) Paulistanos who are haunted by the thoughts of commuting in their urban pursuits. Sao Paulo Tourist Map Image not found Sao-Paulohttps://www.mapsofworld.com/brazil/maps/sau-paulo-tourist-attractions-map.jpg tourist map Sao Paulo Tourist Map Like the Duomo in Florence, which towers above the Renaissance, the Neo-Gothic Sao Paulo Cathedral lurks above the shadows of palm trees. Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo exhibits wide collection of 19th-century Brazilian artworks and São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) holds arguably the most significant collection of artworks in South America. Sao Paulo Aquarium (Aquário de São Paulo) – the largest aquarium in Latin America – houses more than 3,000 animals from nearly 300 species.

João Paulo Alves Fuscob bSão Paulo State University (UNESP), Bauru, Brazil. Wagner Bronze Damianic cSchool of Management of São Paulo (EAESP), Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), São Paulo, Brazil. Hudson Fernandes Amarald dFederal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Abstract The tourism spending like other activities has direct and secondary effects on the economy, and presents complex interaction with other activities deserving a special treatment for measuring its contribution to the global result of production and consumption. In this paper, it is used the Money Generation Model to measure the global economic impact of tourism sales in Ouro Preto, this method is not so limited by the data and it is able to produce good approximations to reality. It was not possible to adopt the WTO methodology due to data limitation. The results revealed the real importance of tourism for Ouro Preto, representing up to 10.4% of GDP in 2002, up to 21.8% of tax revenues in 2004, and approximately 11% of the region’s population in 2002 was related to tourism sales. Some actions can be outlined from these results in order to illustrate the current economic reality of the tourism in Ouro Preto. It is also possible to improve the tourist planning accomplished by the local City Hall in a coherent way with the economic results generated by the tourism.

ISSN 2357-8211 Production of economic statistics for tourist accommodation services of Belo Horizonte under the flexible geography approach Produção de estatísticas econômicas para os serviços de acomodação turístico de Belo Horizonte sob abordagem da geografia flexível Caio César Soares Gonçalves PhD student in Population, Territory and Public Statistics by the National School of Statistical Sciences (Ence) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics – IBGE, Belo Horizonte/MG, Brazil E-mail: [email protected] Article received on: 11-30-2019 Article approved on: 06-30-2020 Revista de Turismo Contemporâneo, Natal, v. 8, n. 2, p. 198-221, jul./dec. 2020. 198 Production of economic statistics for tourist accommodation services of Belo Horizonte under the flexible geography approach ABSTRACT This paper aims to produce an experimental economic statistic for the tourist accommodation services for Belo Horizonte under a flexible geography perspective. The starting point is the definition of economic activities in the tourist accommodation concept. The methodology adopted is up-down divided into four steps including filtering processes to accompany the definition, discounts related to obtaining information only for the tourists and procedures for adjustments to the statistics always being compared to the official disclosures and respecting the sum of regions. This analysis revealed an erratic behaviour of the number of establishments in Belo Horizonte across the years and half of the workforce is concentrated in micro and small enterprises. The data from the perspective of the flexible geography allowed to verify where the almost R$ 86 million indicated by the value added of the tourist accommodations were located in 2015.

This study was developed to identify the more important aspects that can improve or limit agritourism and, accordingly, analyse the potential and the limitations for agritourism development in two municipalities of Southeast Brazil. The municipalities are Venda Nova do Imigrante in the state of Espírito Santo, where the agritourism is successfully consolidated and Cachoeiras de Macacu in Rio de Janeiro state, where it is not very significant. This comparison was based on secondary and primary data – the latter were collected during field trips in these municipalities and by getting in touch with representatives of institutions and other local stakeholders. The results showed that the main similarities between the municipalities, which promote agritourism, are environmental, historic and cultural aspects; the presence of family farming with diversified production; and small rural industries.

Bol. Mus. Para. Emílio Goeldi. Cienc.
