Notes from the Nurse NorthWood Middle School January 2017 Students helping others . As part of a seventh grade Language Arts unit, students read the novel A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. The novel highlighted the hardships faced by many people who do not have access to clean water: water borne illnesses, lack of sanitation, and the inability to attend school. Instead of simply reading about their plight, we challenged students to do something to help. We partnered with Charity: Water to try to raise $350 as a seventh grade class to provide clean water to eleven people somewhere around the world. Students kept track of every time they used water throughout the day on Thursday, December 8th. We challenged them to consider donating .10 per use. However, the students brought in $577.93 to donate! They surpassed our goal by well over $200. As every dollar donated is directly tied to a water project, their donations will help 19 people access safe drinking water. A water project takes about 21 months for the organization to complete; however, upon completion, Charity: Water will provide NorthWood Middle School with a GPS location and pictures of the water project our students helped fund. Stay home when you are sick and there is no fever without the use of fever-reducing medicine for 24 hours. Get your family vaccinated for the seasonal flu. Indiana law now requires all students in grades 6 through 12 to show proof of the following immunizations: Tdap, Meningitis, and 2 doses of Varicella or parent statement of chickenpox disease. Kindergarten students are also required to have 2 doses of varicella. Anytime your child receives an immunization please remember to submit documentation to the school to update our records. Boys’ Basketball Review 7th Grade JV ~ Coach Holdeman The 7th grade boys B basketball team had a great season this year. They finished 2nd in the regular season and made it to the semi final game in the Big 11 Tournament. They finished the year with a 10-6 record. Members of the team consist of: Isaac Roberts, Clayton Martin, Lance Royster, Nic Wilson, Andrew Miller, Drew Callander, Aiden Schrock, Luke Tice, Brady Chupp, Noah Blosser, Kaleb Elliot, Victor Arvizu, and manager Matthew Birk. I look forward to seeing you all on the court next year. 8th Grade JV ~ Coach Nine The 8th grade B team finished with a hard earned 10-5 overall record. They battled in their final game, but came up short against a very good North Side team. This particular team had many big wins this season that proved just how hard they worked each week. Wins over Bethany Christian and Concord were among those big wins! Perhaps the greatest victory of this season was watching these 8th grade young men learn how to respond when things didn’t go their way. I’m very proud to have coached this team of great character. Team members include: Kayden Newcomer, Andre Freitas, Cole Reser, Deacon Hartman, Cam Iwema, Ryne Flickinger, Caleb Schwartz, Trever Klotz, Kaiden Mikel, Ryan Blosser, and manager Tyler Plank. 7th Grade Varsity ~ Coach Bowser The Northwood 7th Grade varsity basketball team finished their season at 9-7 with a tough loss to Pierre Moran in the conference tournament. The Panthers started the season strong at 4-0 with wins over a variety of conference opponents. The middle and latter parts of the season were met with tough challenges from good conference and nonconference opponents. Each game the boys worked hard to improve as individuals and as a team. Their efforts were best represented in their come from behind win at John Young. Down 10 in the fourth quarter, the Panthers picked up their defense and battled back to win 24-23. Players on this year’s varsity team include: Cooper Wiens, Jamarr Jackson, Tyree Rife, Aidan Wolfe, Chaz Yoder, Jaxon Miller, Joey Eshelman, Brady Hunsberger, Cole Davis and Gage Gongwer. The manager for the A team was Austin Miller. Thank you to all of the parents and fans that came out to support and make this season a success. 8th Grade Varsity ~ Coach Bilinski The 8th Grade A basketball team completed one of the most successful seasons in school history in 2016! The team finished with an outstanding 17-2 record, winning the Big 11 Conference and runner-in the Big 11 Tourney. The team was also the NorthWood Shootout Champions and had great wins against Discovery, Northridge, Edgewood, Plymouth, and Concord! The team got better each week, working very hard to improve their skills and knowledge of the game.

    REDACTED FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION April 2021 Amendment In light of the Supreme Court’s decision in Prometheus, Quincy Media, Inc. (“Quincy”) and Gray Television, Inc. (“Gray”) hereby amend their pending applications seeking Commission consent to the long-form transfer of control to Gray of certain license-holding subsidiaries of Quincy.1 Quincy and Gray submit the instant amendment to refresh the record concerning the three markets in which Gray initially requested failing station waivers. The parties provide herein data demonstrating that each of those station combinations continues to comply with the Commission’s local television ownership rule as adopted in the Reconsideration Order. Prior to the Order on Reconsideration, the Commission’s rules prohibited any entity from owning two stations unless (i) eight independent television voices remained in the market (the “Eight-Voices Test”) after the proposed combination; and (ii) at least one of the stations was not ranked among the top-four television station in a market (the “Top Four Prohibition”). The Commission’s rules also limited the number of television and radio stations any entity could own in a single market (“Radio-Television Cross-Ownership Rule”). In the Order on Reconsideration, the Commission eliminated the Eight-Voices Test and the Radio-Television Cross-Ownership Rule, which the Supreme Court in Prometheus has now affirmed. In the initial applications, Gray requested failing station waivers in three markets: (1) South Bend-Elkhart, Indiana; (2) Fort Wayne, Indiana; and (3) Duluth, Minnesota-Superior, Wisconsin. Derek Turner Research Director Free Press Mark Cooper Fellow McGannon Communications Research Center September 2006 www.freepress.net Executive Summary Just three years after the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected sweeping policy changes that would have dramatically altered our nation’s media landscape, the Federal Communications Commission is once again — despite widespread public opposition — poised to eliminate longstanding limits on media ownership. These changes could have a tremendous negative impact, especially on broadcast outlets owned by women and minorities. In the landmark Prometheus v. FCC decision, the Third Circuit chastised the FCC for ignoring the issue of female and minority ownership. But since 2003, the FCC has done very little to address the issue. The FCC has abdicated its responsibility to monitor and foster increased minority and female broadcast ownership. In fact, the Commission cannot account for the actual state of female and minority ownership. This report provides the first complete assessment and analysis of female and minority ownership of full-power commercial broadcast television stations. The purpose of this study is to provide the public, Congress and the FCC with a complete understanding of the state of female and minority television ownership, as well as the potential impacts of changes to media ownership rules. Taken together, the findings of this study paint a troubling picture: • Women comprise 51 percent of the entire U.S. population, but own a total of only 67 stations, or 4.97 percent of all stations.

MATHEW, ) Defendant ) WPTA-TV’S VERIFIED MOTION TO INTERVENE AND RECONSIDER ORDER OF APRIL 20, 2017 WPTA-TV, by counsel, and pursuant to Indiana Rule of Trial Procedure 24(A)(2), and Indiana Administrative Rule 9(G), respectfully petitions the Court for leave to intervene in this matter for the limited purpose of objecting to the Court’s April 20, 2017 Order (“Order”) and moving for reconsideration of the same. In support of this request, WPTA-TV states as follows: 1. This criminal matter involves charges against Defendant for misdemeanor battery, I.C. § 35-42-2-1(b)(1), and level 6 felony sexual battery where the victim was compelled to submit by force or imminent threat of force, I.C. § 35-42-4-8(a)(1)(A). 2. On April 17, 2017, the Defendant entered a plea by agreement to the two level 6 felony charges. The two misdemeanor battery charges were dismissed. That same day, the Court held its sentencing hearing. 3. On April 18, 2017, WPTA-TV filed a Request for Records, seeking access to a digitally recorded victim impact statement (the “Record”). 4. On April 20, 2017, the Court issued its Order acknowledging that it was required to provide the Record but limiting its use by, among other things, prohibiting WPTA-TV from broadcasting the Record, subject to the Court’s contempt power.     Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department Staff Reports reporting April / May 2018 STEVE MCDANIEL ~ Director The IDNR has approved our five year Master Plan. We are now in place to submit for Land and Water funds through their division. On May 21st, ARCH presented us with an ARCHie award for the Institutional / Government Winner for the restoration of Col. Foster Statue in Swinney Park. Kellie Adkins and I taped a half hour show about Salomon Farm Park with PBS 39. It aired on June 8th. It will re- air in September. We are commissioning a Master Plan for Franke Park. Working with the Zoo on this partnership. We will be looking at several things within the park including, circulation, theater, zoo, creek, Goshen Road improvements, wayfinding signage, trails, camp, playground, various uses within the park, to name just a few. Senior Games kicked off on June 4th with a press conference and torch lighting ceremony. At the beginning of the week 449 people have signed up. Patti’s goal is to reach 500. I will be the guest speaker at this year’s annual meeting for the Friends of the Parks. The city continues negotiations with a design team for Phase 2&3 of Riverfront Development. The Memorial Park Task Force will have its final recommendations in July. Natalie Eggeman has left the department to work in the Mayor’s Office. We are currently searching for a new PIO. Other staffing openings have been filled. Dave Weadock joins the team as Supervisor of Project Administration. Greg Kreiger, as Project Technician. Mike Cremeans, promoted to Supervisor of Facilities and Trades.
